Baraboo Bluffs

I just need to mention that the map with this entry shows Baraboo Bluffs many miles away from where they are. If someone knows how to fix it, please do so. Also, Baraboo Bluffs is a region, not a place, so I am not sure the entry is appropriate altogether. But since it's here, I need to mention that the "anchor"piece of the Bluffs is Devil's Lake State Park. Baraboo Bluffs also includes several Wisconsin State Natural Areas, the biggest being Baxter's Hollow SNA - right across Highway 12 from Devil's Lake. Many businesses add great appeal to the area - like Ski-Hi Apple Orchard or Baraboo Bluff Winery. City of Baraboo itself has plenty to see, including World Circus Museum. And many other things, most have their own entries on TripAdvisor.

An unusual venue located in a small park in Baraboo, OPZ boasts a number of little seen animals all identified with interesting signage. Prairie dogs, a tiny donkey and a large llama sharing a space, Canada geese, and an exuberantly noisy duck are highlights. Don't miss the beautiful Canada lynx! Many of the animals could use more space. Lots of visitors leaving voluntary contributions might eventually improve that.

I visited Baraboo Bluff Winery this past Saturday with my mom and some family friends for an impromptu girls day. We were impressed not only with the BEAUTIFUL view but also with the amazing customer service. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about their products. The wine tasting is a STEAL for how good the wine tastes and you can even keep your glass :) After the tasting, we had a glass of our favorite wine and even tried the wine slushies that are perfect on a warm almost Fall day. We were full from lunch but it is worth noting that there is cheese and crackers to snack on while you indulge in the wine. The owners were present at the winery and were extremely welcoming and appreciative for our visit. This is absolutely my favorite winery! You HAVE to check it out if you're in the area! :)
