This tour will allow the clients to see the most known cave from Romania "The Bear's Cave " from Chiscau, a village situated at around 90 km away from Oradea. We will descend into the depths of the Bears Cave finding an extraordinary range of stalagmite and stalactite formations, coupled with traces of bears from many years ago. The cave was named so, as numerous "cave bears" (Ursus spelaeus) were found in this cave. The cave was visited by these large animals more than 15.000 years ago. But one day, a rock slide closed the entrance while more than 140 bears were still in the cave. Becoming hungry, the bears killed one another until all were dead. This story is told by their remains, tons of bear bones covering the floor of large parts of the cave with the marks of bear teeth.

Inclusions: Professional guide, Hotel pickup and drop-off, Transport by air-conditioned minivan, Private tour

Exclusions: Entrance fees 20 Ron/pers = approx 5 Euro, Photo fee 15 Ron video camera fee 25 Ron, Food and drinks, Alcoholic drinks (available to purchase), Souvenir photos (available to purchase)

My husband and I visited Oradea in early June and wanted to see not only some of the highlights of the city but also specific attractions. My parents grew up in Oradea and I wanted to see the Cris river (on whose banks my dad walked with his first girlfriend), the Jewish conservative synagogue and the place where the Jews were taken to the camps by train (now a park). Arin was highly personable, knowledgeable and flexible and made our tour a delightful experience. He started by showing us the fascinating Oradea citadel (a must-see), whose moat with hot water from thermal springs kept invaders at bay. It is believed to be the best preserved citadel in Europe built in the Renaissance style, erected between the years 1077-1095 by King Ladislau I. (In the beginning it was a fortified monastery, later it was transformed into a citadel, which became the headquarters of the Roman-Catholic Diocese of Oradea.) Arin then took us to the open market (really, it had some kind of a roof to protect u s from the elements), huge in size, and offering a great variety of beautiful produce, fruits and vegetables), and flowers. He then walked us through parts of the beautiful city and its varied architecture, pointing out all sorts of interesting things, and then walked with us, continuing to explain everything, to the sites we wanted to see, including some new ones that he thought we might want to see (he was right). Arin is a superb guide. His English is flawless, he is fun to be with, accommodating, helpful and dedicated to giving his clients the best possible experience. I recommend not only this particular walking tour (which, for us, was memorable), but also Arin as a guide. We felt so fortunate to have found him.

We made the day trip in 2019. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and the car was comfortable and clean. We dealt with Ilona, and she was very helpful in answering all our questions. We especially enjoyed the view of Sighisoara from the City Tower. We would highly recommend Rolandia if you're planning a trip to Transylvania.

Hi became fascinated with northern Romania during a quick trip to Cluj one year. I desperately wanted to tour the wooden churches, painted churches, and to visit the Merry Cemetery, but with a guide. I was beyond fortunate to have found Flavia. Not only is she a wonderful person (and much fun) but made the entire trip come alive for me. She arranged delightful accommodation, where I became a part of the family, and even made sure all of my pesky food allergies were not a problem. Each day was a new adventure into a land like nowhere I had ever been. The sights were beautiful and her knowledge endless. Returning to Cluj and my trip home, she even found time for me to appease my Dracula desires and we were able to visit Hotel Castle Dracula! I strongly encourage anyone visiting Romania to contact Flavia and guarantee you a fantastic holiday!

We've signed up for a tour along Danube that included Golubac Fortress and Lepenski Vir. We've spent most of the time driving and guide Mihajlo was pointing out interesting landmarks and local curiosities and sharing stories about them on the way. We were lucky to get an extra: a tour of local winery - I guess because we were a small group with quicker turnaround. We topped it off with a dinner in a local eatery. All in all, despite the long drive, it was very worth it. The trip was very pleasant and the fortress was a sight to behold. One tip: go in the summer. During the winter the best parts of the fortress are closed off to visitors.
