This Tour is totally unique! We take the traveler as a companion on the motorcycle ("Mototaxi" style). Or if you had a motorcycle, we will guide you through the region. It is totally new! There are no motorcycle tours of that kind in the entire region. It is a totally new way of observing nature, of living, seeing and smelling landscapes. To feel the wind, to feel the smells. To be able to feel the curves of a route or the 360 vision (towards the sides and up and down). Riding a motorcycle is living nature from the inside. This excursion has all the adventure that involves riding a motorcycle. It is totally unique. I am the pioneer of this new idea in the region and I am very happy about that.

MY wife and I, along with another couple spent 4 amazing days in 2017 with Flor, Stephane and all the wonderful hosts. We spent days sightseeing, tasting wine and local food, horseback riding in the Andes and more! We brought home so much wine! The pricing on the wine and everything else was amazing. Each host was generous, helpful and sharing. We wanted so badly to stay longer, but we intend to return for more some day!

After the disembarkation we access the refuge where the guides organize the groups that are composed each up to 20 people. Then we start a walk along the lake shore for approximately 20 minutes to the glacier. Upon reaching the edge of the ice the guides place the crampons to the participants, who receive instructions on how they should move on the ice. The tour on the glacier is done in about 2 hours, and during the course of it you can see a variety of ice formations such as cracks, seracs, sinkholes, small lagoons. The walk is moderate. The ice surface on which you walk is irregular, but firm and safe. Explanations will be received about the flora, fauna and general glaciology of the region as well as the particular phenomenon that occurs in the Perito Moreno glacier and eventually produces its rupture. At the end of the walk, you will return to the refuge through the exuberant Magellan forest, and then take the catamaran back to Puerto Bajo de Las Sombras.

Not worth it, I'm afraid. Too expensive to get to see just one of the glaciers, the Spegazzini one. (The Upsala glacier can only be seen from afar, as it's deemed too risky to approach). The journey was too long and quite uncomfortable (the ferry I took was the Quo Vadis). Too many people travelling. The ferry was 80% full in Covid times, which I found unsensible and irresponsible. We could not choose where to sit or change seats afterwards. The Spegazzini refuge is partly open. You can take a (rather short) walk in the woods, but the café/restaurant/toilet area is (still) closed and looks quite derelict. I've taken other tours in the area (Perito Moreno Glacier/ Canal Beagle/Full day at Chalten) and they were less expensive, better organised and far more enjoyable than this one.

We will head southwest on Provincial Route 86, enjoying the landscapes of Cacheuta until we cross the tunnel that connects this town with Potrerillos. Staying at family hotel in Puerto Iguazu (Posada Los Tajibos) who gave advice as to how to get to Falls / what to do. Visited both sides of Falls on consecutive days, catching local buses from Iguazu on each occasion which was straightforward including the border crossing to Brazil. Brazil a much shorter area to cover (could do in 4 hour max) so incorporated a motorised rib up to / under the Falls which was great / wet. Following day went to Argentinian side which was far longer and a full day to do all 4 walks - there was a cataract ride from this side which looked better (bigger boat / larger waterfall) but would be difficult to do with all walks (omit Macuco?). Both worth doing to get different perspective but I think do Brazil 1st as Argentinian was for me better.
