Beautiful lodge with friendly staff and delicious food

Reviewed By Céline H

My sister and I stayed for a week at the lodge. We really enjoyed the cozy rooms with the view on the ocean, the friendly and very helpful staff, as well as the restaurant. The food is really delicious and there a some very nice options for vegetarian (and vegan) guest - just be aware that it takes some times to get the food. It gives you time to relax, have a drink and look at the ocean but if you have little time to eat it's not always ideal. Loved the breakfast particularly! The room are very comfortable - I would just suggest to have something to hide during the shower (transparent shower inside of the room - not great if you want a bit of privacy). The staff was extremely kind and attentive to our needs and always with kind words, so thank you all for this. You should definitely book a massage - it was just perfect! Great place to disconnect and to real feel on holiday.

Harrita Lodge

Perfect

Reviewed By arseniovasco

We were looking for a place on the Malongane tip to spend the weekend, and we couldn't have found a better place. The lodge is very well located and calm, the rooms are clean and tidy with an easy access to the beach and a great view to the sea. The management and staff were very helpful and we had no reason to complain, will definitely recommend Harrita Lodge if you’re looking for a self catering accommodation.

Great seafood platter

Visited Anda Ca to watch the rugby and decided to have a spot of lunch while there. We opted for the seafood platter which was so nice. Tasty prawns, calamari and good chunks of nicely cooked fish. Friendly efficient staff

Rustic

Reviewed By Stunningchick69

So guys and girls, only if you like rustic, a bit unorthodox, willing to share a kitchen with other people (don't worry, nobody is taking anybody else's stuff), then you can go to this little piece of heaven on earth. The drawbacks - the people driving on the beach, the constant sounds of engines revving, the oil in the water because of the boats, the poor water pressure when you want to take a shower :) Sit around and do nothing Read a book Spend time with your partner/family No television Long walks on the beach Don't forget to go to the various bars and restaurants in the area PS: If the owner could try and dress to create a better first impression, that would be awesome!!!

Island Rock Resort

A little piece of Mozambique that stole my heart

Reviewed By Samanticks

If you are looking for a great value for money, a place away from the hustle and bustle of life where you can unwind completly while being surrounded by bush and ocean then you don't have to look any further. The owners Louise and Hannes go out of their way to make sure that all visitors have an amazing stay. The resort consists of campsites (up to 300 people) and two lapas that consist of 4 and 5 houses each with their own communal kitchen, and for the houses without the bathroom a communal bathroom. The one lapa can sleep a group of 20 and the other a group of 25. There are also casitas available but Hannes did mention that he was looking at taking these down and building further houses. The camp is supplied with electricity by generator between 7:00 and 12:00 in the morning and then again from 16:00 to 22:00 at night, this includes the campsites. Being only a 30 min drive from Ginjata and between a hour and a hour and a half drive from Inhambane, Tofo and Barra this is the best place to set up base camp and go on day excursions to these more busy places. (I loved them all but was very glad to get back to my own private space in the bush once we had visited these) The whole campsite is really clean and well maintained with your own 3km private beach, where I did a little snorkeling and a lot of lazing around. Low tide is perfect for young kids as the water is really shallow up until the reef that is quite some way out. We managed to get there in a 2x4 as you have to pass through two sand dunes to get there but a 4x4 is the best option. The resort also has a 6km quad bike track, you are not allowed to ride the bikes in the resort but can have loads of fun once out and about. With all sorts of activities to keep young and old entertained I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay for families, groups of friends, and couples. Please note that there is a facebook page called Island Rock BEACH Resort that are using the same resorts details and photos but providing people with the incorrect information as well as incorrect rates, just make sure that you have contacted the correct resort and chat to Louise and Hannes. I cant wait to go back.

Baleia A Vista

Awful.

Reviewed By meganh489

Unhealthy - dried blood on walls of tent, mold covering walls, no running water, unkempt - sheets were stained, floors Gad to be swept, wardrobe was falling apart, and unsafe - keys were an afterthought. Perhaps worst part was we booked w AirBnB “Tent 5,6” as seen below - we found NOTHING even remotely similar. They were overpacked and overcharging the stay. What we booked and paid for was given to others; what were given was completely uninhabitable. Apparently they have 1 or 2 accommodations that actually look like the description- we did not see them. The owners could of cared less and did nothing to remedy the issues - in fact he was sitting in his office, feet propped up on the desk, whiskey in hand while sweet Edna worked overtime to try and clean an unworthy tent. Photos highlight mold, missing furniture, dysfunctional bathroom, dried blood on walls, and tears in canvas. Horrible.

Fantastic stay - home away from home

Reviewed By memypassportandi

A friend and I just spent two weeks at Tilak Lodge, also diving at Tofo Scuba. We had an exceptional time, as Brodie and Dan took fantastic care of us. The lodge was comfortable, everything worked well, the food was tasty, the views of the beach and sunrise were lovely, and Brodie helped arrange everything (diving, snorkeling, transport, PCR tests, etc.). All of the staff members were friendly and helpful. It was so nice to be so well taken care of after having done a lot of independent travel. And they offer discounts if you stay and dive with them, which was superb! We saw several whale sharks and so many mantas! Also, just in general, Tofo was so safe, and there were some nice restaurants when we wanted to mix things up. I'm really sad to be leaving, as it definitely became a home away from home. Hopefully I can return someday.
