Repertory Dance Theatre

Repertory Dance Theatre is the nation's oldest and most successful repertory dance company. Unlike conventional modern dance organizations, we present you with a diverse range of modern dance styles and choreographers paired together in dynamic and unexpected performances. New viewers often ask us what to expect from an RDT performance. We tell them grace and athleticism, beauty and power. Beyond that, we tell them to embrace the unexpected. So, what is RDT Dance all about? Simply said, we are about art. Art in motion, expressed through our bodies as modern dance. Art that in its immediacy and intimacy can be both thrilling and profound. Art that challenges you, and art that you won't see coming. For 50 years, RDT has pushed the boundaries of modern dance, while preserving and celebrating its legacy. It was radical when Utah modern dancers beat out the big city stalwarts to receive a Rockefeller grant establishing us as the nation's first repertory dance company. Today, we're just as revolutionary as we were in 1966. Join us for our groundbreaking 50th Anniversary season (2015-16). Mormon Tabernacle Choir

Reviewed By Vacationer177426

Mormon Tabernacle Choir is a world-renowned choir made up of LDS church members. Where is based in Salt Lake City, and rehearses each Thursday night on Temple Square. What are the most acclaimed concerts they perform each year is the Christmas concert. I have these Christmas programs in the past, and can say it is one of the most spectacular events you might ever attend. Tickets for the Christmas concert are free and available on a first come first serve basis online only. They generally "sell" out within the first few minutes of becoming available, but are often giving away by patrons the nights of the performances, if you don't mind standing outside in line in frigid temperatures. Each Sunday morning, the choir also performs for the weekly Music and the Spoken Word, also on Temple Square and also free to the public. Definitely something anyone visiting Salt Lake City should try to experience!

Salt Lake new performing arts theater is simply terrific. The acoustics are perfect and the seating comfortable and nicely aligned to allow viewing of the stage. Multiple levels of seating with boxes in the wings make for a first class experience. We attended the touring company presentation of “Wicked” and it was Broadway quality. The performance stage appears to have all of the special tools to allow flying monkeys to come to life and sound quality that rivals anything on Broadway.
