This tour was such an amazing and memorable tour! Jorge was our tour guide and i 100% recommend him as the tour guide! Hes fluent in both english and spanish. We did the pablo escobar tour and the City of colombia tour with him and we absolutely loved every minute! It was a full day tour for both tours to be completed. He personally knew so many details that it would've been difficult to know had it been a different tour guide. Definitely book this tour and all for Jorge!!

This tour was by far the best experience I have had yet on Trip Advisor! Andres was extremely friendly, passionate and scholarly. He was easy to talk to about anything! All the information he gave us was very interesting and educational. I personally don’t even like coffee, and I still really enjoyed this tour. My boyfriend loves coffee and loved the tour as well. Andres took us through the entire process of making coffee from planting the seed to the different methods of extracting. It was amazing how many flavors you can achieve from the different extraction methods. He took pictures of us along the way so that we could focus on enjoying the experience. The local family he works with were very hospitable and offered us drinks and food along the way. I could not have asked for anything more on this tour. 5+++

I've stayed in a lot of hostels and this place is close to being one of the worst. Tiny rooms, unhelpful cleaning staff.. uncomfortable beds. Awful. Double room is the barely big enough for a double bed and right next to the reception. Noticeboard is right next to the window so anybody stopping to discuss their plans will be doing it right outside your room. Reception phone calls may as well be held inside the room due to the thin walls. We booked 2 nights and left after 1.. found a better place (not that difficult) but required access to our room to pick up some clothes we accidentally left in the room. We were told it was occupied and they could enter to have a look around... this was early morning in to the second morning we would have been there. The volunteer staff tried very little to resolve the situation and the owner was only available over the phone. We were told a pack of lies as to why we couldn't speak with them. This place is a shocker. Avoid.

What an experience! We were picked up for our adventure of the cafetales in a Willy Land Cruiser which made us feel like we were about to embark on an epic adventure. Alejandro and his driver picked us up at El Diamanate where the tour started. with a brief but complete explainatiion of the origins of coffee we set off up over the mountains to the start of the tour of the cafetales. Alejandro was so knowledgable of all things coffee, he really knew his stuff and could answer pretty much everything we asked. We walked down through the coffee and banana plants taking in the breath taking views of the Colombian Andes, what a sight! For this part of the tour, I recommend, sun screen, mosquitos repelente and a pair of walking shoes or trainers. if it's been raining, an old pair of trainers as you might get a bit muddy. Then off we went down to the fabrica where the coffee arrives and is processed. What a spectacular place! The building has been renovated to its former glory and looks absolutly amazing with the hotel next door having been reconstructed and designed to maintain that beautfiful Colombian finca feel. What a success! The tour concluded with a preparation and tasting session with Gabriel, who like Alejandro was super knowledgable and friendly. He really made us feel welcome and was expressive and passionate about the coffee we were drinking. For me as a Brit who doesn't have any experience of coffee tasting or preparation, this was an eye opening experience. It was like a wine tasting without the memory loss or hangover. The coffee is certainly premium and this tour made me appreciate the cultivation and preperation process, i dont think i will ever look at coffee in the same way. But what will stick with me is tasting the coffee right there in the mountains where it has been grown. Sitting on the veranda, taking in the history that lies there in those mountains, seeing the hard work that goes into it from start to finish, you appreciate its flavour and price so much more. Not only do La Manchuria have a premium coffee, they also have a premium coffee tour!
