We had an amazing time! This should be listed under things to do in South Padre instead of work shop and classes. I almost missed out because it wasn’t ranked under ‘Things to Do.’ It really is a fun thing to do with the family. Andy is a lot of fun, engaging and a great teacher of sand castle building. When you’re all done you actually have an amazing castle that your family built. The best part is we actually built another one on our own the following day. You don’t need to be super artistic to do this. Just pack a cooler and have fun with it!

Sandy Feet Sandcastle Services

A former high school English teacher, Lucinda "Sandy Feet" Wierenga invented the job of sandcastle instructor 35 years ago, and she has taught more people how to have fun on the beach than anyone else on the planet. Author of the best selling book "Sandcastles Made Simple," she is the owner of the (SPI) SandBox Inn - a guesthouse/sandcastle academy. In 2019, she and her partner - Emerson Wierenga Schreiner - branched out and are now offering private sandcastle instruction in Galveston, TX as well as South Padre Island. Se habla Español!

When I saw Sand Castle Building lessons, I knew I was in! I just had to convince my husband and teenage son to try it with me. Lucinda was so easy to coordinate with, was very flexible even when booking months in advance, quick to respond to emails and gave great directions to her beach location. We did NOT know what we were doing and that didn’t scare her a bit! We all got so into the creating, time flew and yet it was blissfully still and zen-like. I was surprised it was only an hour that passed and we actually had a recognizable castle! People took pictures of our castle! Can’t recommend Lucinda and this experience enough. So fun!

Keith and Courtney are awesome. Keith led us in some introductory wheel throwing of pottery and we enjoyed the experience immensely! The instruction was personal and patient. Keith was eager to help my wife design and manipulate her lump of clay into what promises to be a wonderful ring stand. We are looking forward to returning to glaze our creations in a couple of weeks! 10/10 would go again!

Dallas Chocolate Classes

Dallas Chocolate Classes offers fun and informal baking classes, chocolate dessert making classes, and chocolate-centric group events for all levels -- presented by expert baker and chocolatier Zach Townsend.

Zach was a great teacher and host. The recipe was easy to follow and my wife and I really enjoyed the evening. The chocolate was delicious and it was exciting to see how we could make it ourselves, following Zach's well organized directions. The size of the class with two couples was perfect and helped create a fun intimate environment for a date night. I highly recommend signing up for one of Zach's classes.
