Spending slightly longer in Makassar is not a bad idea when admiring Indonesia’s natural splendour, beyond the South Sulawesi’s capital city borders, is what you’re after. The refreshing climate and fresh air of the Malino Highlands were once the weekend retreat of choice for the Dutch settlers during the times Makassar was controlled by the Dutch East India Company as one of the main trading gateways between the East and the West. It’s cool and clean air, 1050 meters above sea level, has made the Malino Highlands an ideal place for various plantation projects, and in particular tea.

I think it was too windy and too many people on the water, but okay to try :-) there are alot of other watersports going on here so you have to look out, I tried snorkling too but due to all the boats sailing around the water was not still, so not good to do that for kids at least. A lot to look at, but too many people at one time here, but the guides are very helpfull with eferyting and there are many different waterthings to try, so go for it and see for yourselves, but look out for your kids , the beach is nice

My friend and I booked a 23-day trip to Sulawesi for August 2020. When we had to cancel due to COVID-19 and Indonesia being closed, Hernan Halim stopped answering emails, refused to follow his own booking terms of only 25% penalty and wouldn't even offer a credit for 2021. We lost all our money and couldn't even get an explanation. Do NOT book with Hernan or IndoGlobal Adventures.
