My husband and 2 sons (ages 11 and 13) loved our virtual tour of Tokyo. Nino was a fantastic guide and filled the hour with historical, cultural and fun facts! She was able to keep all of us at all ages engaged. It was a welcome diversion for this time of no-travel and very few experiences in the world because of the pandemic. We all can't wait to book our trip when the time allows!

We had a wonderful day with Takashi as our guide. We visited Arakura Sengen Park and Shrine, 4th Station, Wind and Ice Caves, Mt Fuji Panoramic Ropeway and Oishi Park. We were very lucky and got to see Mt. Fuji all day. Takashi was very knowledgeable about all sites and the history of Japan and we would highly recommend this tour.

Our private tour to Mt Fuji was supposed to take place 2 days after Typhoon Hagibis struck Tokyo. Due to the typhoon, there were a lot of road closures, including many of the roads and highways that led to Mt Fuji. However, the private tour driver was totally unaware of the road closures, and followed the GPS on his car through 3 different routes that were all closed (he eventually switched to Google Maps which showed where the road closures were at, after encountering the second road closure and making a phone call back to his office). We had met up the driver at 8am, and it was already 12nn by the time we encountered our third road closure. Sseeing how late it already was, I suggested to abort the trip to Mt Fuji and to visit Kamakura instead. We spent a few short hours visiting Kamakura, and it was a very disappointing day, all in all. To be fair, it was no fault of the driver that the roads were closed because of the typhoon. Also, he was a nice guy, though soft spoken. However, as a tour operator, they should have minimally checked the road conditions when they knew that a typhoon had struck just 2 days ago. If we were made aware of the risks of road closures even one day in advance, we could have made alternative plans in Tokyo, or even cancelled the private tour. The day was half-wasted trapped in the car, and we were tired and it was just such a dampener for us, especially since we were with our parents who were old and could hardly withstand such a long road trip circling around the roads of Tokyo. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this tour operator. They need to be clearer on their responsibilities as a tour operator, and be proactive to ensure that the trip can run smoothly.

This day trip went above our expectations. It started with being picked up very timely at our hotel and continued with a very smooth and safe drive to our first location. Our guide spoke excellent English, was extremely friendly and even accompanied us during our visits to numerous shrines. What was most enjoyable was the flexibility of the schedule, which we could alter as the day passed. It enabled us to see way more sights and get more background information, than we could ever have possible achieved ourselves. This trip comes highly recommended!

This was an excellent trip. Decided to visit Mt. Fuji in October with my young son and asked the guide - Khizer - to concentrate on child friendly activities and areas. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and my son had the time of his life. Khizer is super friendly, has excellent English + Japanese and answered all the questions we had. He also had brilliant tit-bits about things which kept us all captivated the entire time. His in-depth knowledge of both the geography and history of the places we visited was outstanding and made this a most memorable experience. We were super delighted that Khizer adjusted the tour to our requirements making this a wonderful day out for my family. Could not have asked for a nicer experience with an extremely pleasant guide. Thank you very much Khizer! The van was very clean and came equipped with hand sanitizers and masks thus giving us comfort during these times of coronavirus. Looking forward to our next trip...

We only had two days in Tokyo on our recent trip to Japan. Prior to our visit we were able to communicate with Yukiko to plan our itinerary. We enjoyed a Tea Ceremony at the Imperial Hotel ( small additional charge) and then visited the Asakusa area with the Sensoji temple and Nakamise shopping area. From there we traveled via subway to the Meiji Jingu Shrine. Along the way Yukiko taught us about the subway system, the traditions at the temples and shrines and other Japanese culture. With so short a timeframe in Tokyo, we efficiently visited major attractions with a knowledgable, friendly, bilingual guide. I highly recommend the private half day tour and our guide, Yukiko.

While we were sad to have to cancel our July trip to Japan due to the pandemic, we found the process of working with Japan Awaits to be easy and efficient. I can't speak to the full experience since we weren't able to go, but filling out the form and our communication with the company was no problem. And their prompt and courteous response to our request for a refund speaks to their professionalism. We will definitely come back to ask for their help in procuring tickets to the Studio Ghibli Museum when we do finally make it to Japan! Fingers crossed for next summer.
