the great south bay is a very large body of water, if your a boater , or want to charter a fishing trip , or just go on a fishing pier this is the area to relax and do all that, therm ocean is just on the other side of the Bay. so you have options ,, but the best part to enjoy is the evening sky's as the sun sets , the colors are amazing. if your in the right area , its a beautiful day out, with family or friends,

in captree state park there is a fishing pier , you can fish there or just walk the long pier and enjoy the view and the sea breeze thats coming from the ocean , there is long bench's there as you sit and relax for as long as you like,, but if you happen to be there in the late evening when the sun is setting your in for a big treat, as the sun sets the sky starts to glow and nice orange red & yellow colors

Valley stream residents park. It is a great walk or bike ride around the lake. pool complex kept very clean and neat.

We spent most of our time at the beaches here in Long Island. There are all kinds of State Parks. I suggest getting a park pass so you can avoid all the parking costs. Saved us a fortune.
