It is one of Vryheid's surviving classic old South African homes, with its sandstone foundations, Oregon pine floors, high ceilings and wide verandahs. The guesthouse consists of 9 all-en-suite rooms and 3 self catering rooms. Each room and its bathroom has its own unique "feel", its own atmosphere, its own look. No two rooms are the same.The result is individuality. Each room is luxuriously finished and furnished, the bathrooms are marvellously modern. Comfort is everything. Villa Beryl serves English and Continental breakfasts, and dinner on request.

Reviewed By Weltenbummler234Located in the most beautiful environment you feel like you stepped into a fairytail. Lovely animals you can pet all around. You can easily have wonderful braais here while having stunning views of the hillsides. Anything here is done with a lot of love. The whole accommodation makes you feel like coming home to the farm you dreamed of. The hosts are georgious and will help you with anything you need. We actually already miss our conversations with this warm hearted couple. Mme. Petra also kindly takes care of animals in need, what makes it even more adorable. You also have good wifi and the kitchen is well equipped.

Friendly reception but there it ends
Reviewed By LeoMidRooms are clean on the face of it but when you look deeper the cleanliness is just superficial. Maybe the rooms due for an upgrade to get working shower doors etc. The TV - only sound no picture. Want an early morning cup of coffee? Then rather bring your own kettle as the kettle provided does not work. With 10 people are in the breakfast room - expect to wait for at least 15 minutes before your order is taken. Disappointing.

We thankfully had a complementary night stay so we didn't have to pay for it, otherwise it would have been more painful. It served as a good stopover on our trip but I doubt would return. The breakfast in the morning was hit and miss. The Cold meat and cheese platter was stale while the muffins and scones were rock hard. Would not stay here unless I absolutely have to

Overrated and Poor Management
Reviewed By lbradb679509Totally disgusted with our stay. On arrival, the spa staff were not friendly. Husband and I had a massage in the same room. Not worth the money... therapists need training. Room that we were given was great, except there were 3 screaming children. We were moved, to a room that had no view and could still hear the screaming children. No apologies from management or advisement to the person of the children to quiten down. 3 days of screaming. 7am to 7pm. No quietness!!! Made a bath one night, couldn't let the water out. Went to management who sent 2 staff with a broom to open the water outlet. Next day was advised by the 1 staff member it was fixed. No apologies from management. Made another bath, tried to let the water out... didn't work. For a 4 star place, that is expensive, one would assume that everything works.. and that management engage with their patrons. Don't go there if you want to relax and unwind. Total waste of money and too stressful. Most disappointing.

Disappointing Experience
Reviewed By Michael7472020When we arrived, the welcoming was rather cold and unfriendly, however, information was given about restaurants in the vicinity. Our room, the Honeymoon Suite, was really smelly, as if it had not been ventilated for weeks. The same smell was captured in the towels in the bathroom, where there was a candle holder with candles that were completely bent, probably due to high heat, but had never been exchanged. There was a spider web on the ground next to the bath tub. The refrigerator was not clean. I would not book again.

Short and comfy stay
Reviewed By HelenMazibukoAmazing customer service, amazing guesthouse. We stayed the Owl and Kitty Room, I loved the rustic, antique look and feel of the room. The bed was very comfortable. We loved that we had a large bath and luxury bath salts in the room. Much needed after a long and tiring drive. I honestly cannot fault the room and the customer service at all. The owner went of his way to make sure that our parents were also accommodated at the same place with us. The view was a bonus, I really wished I was staying much longer.
