Beautiful Lake View from the Balcony
Reviewed By BrewskiTravelerWe had an excellent stay at this hotel. The room was spotless and nicely furnished. It is located right on lake front. The check in was fast and the staff super friendly and helpful. When we arrived the staff helped us unload our bags from the car and ushered us in while another person parked our car for us. Car park is complimentary and just a short 2 minute walk from the hotel. Then we were shown to our room and the bags brought up shortly. The staff were great in suggesting things to see and do. You can buy discounted tickets for the Ropeway and ferry at the hotel. The view of the lake from the balcony was awesome. The breakfast was also plentiful and tasty. The area Ita Thao has a lively food scene in the evening. Lots of restaurants and cafes to choose from. We enjoyed our stay very much and will be back.

Reviewed By jamesng_sfHu Yue is conveniently located at the Yidashao ferry terminal at Sun Moon Lake. Staff is friendly and helpful The Lake view room is spectacular. Room is very well maintained with all the needed necessity. Since it's right at the Yidashao market, all the restaurants or Taiwanese snack place are in walking distance. The included breakfast was outstanding as well, offering wide range of variety. Hu Yue is great for both family with kids, or couples who is looking for a romantic getaway.

Reviewed By LY72Room is very spacious and clean. Room for 4 people comes with 2 king beds and a balcony. Bathroom is huge with a bathtub. Staff are helpful. Breakfast is very basic but adequate. Possible improvements include providing bigger dustbins (the ones provided are so small that they overflow in no time) and more hangers / hooks for jackets / clothes. Overall, highly recommended.

Reviewed By Roberta JThis was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Our room was spacious and very tastefully and thoughtfully equipped. There was lots of room to put our belongings and the little balcony was delightful. Our room had both a shower and a bathtub. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. The location was just a few steps from the bus station and was walking distance to every place we wanted to go to. I would definitely recommend this little treasure!

It was an unforgettable experience. If you are looking for a peaceful and tranquil place at Sun Moon Lake. This is the best. Please choose the rooms facing the lake.

Skylight B&B (bed and breakfast) is in a great location at one of the main piers of Sun Moon Lake, Ita Thao, which is an aboriginal village. The B&B is sited in the middle of the shopping street with many food stands and restaurants, only a 3-minute walk from Ita Thao Pier. Due to the neighboring high buildings, the rooms don't offer lake views. Despite this, Skylight B&B is proud of its modern comfortable design. Every guestroom is well equipped- with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, heating facilities, a flat-screen TV, a fridge, an electric kettle and free toiletries. The bathrooms each have an overhead shower and also a huge stone bathtub, which will definitely release your stress and wash your weariness away after a long day. The bed is queen size and it comfortably helps you have a good sleep at night. Guests are offered a fresh and delicious breakfast on the top floor of the B&B. They can relax and enjoy the sun terrace of our outdoor restaurant. Skylight B&B provides easy access to all attractions: a 15-minute walk to Ropeway Station, a 15-minute drive to Shuei-she Bus Station, and is an 80-minute drive from the Taichung High Speed Rail Station. Sun Moon Lake enjoys an abundance of unique and interesting sightseeing spots, such as Ci'en Pagoda, Xuanzang Temple, Shiwatou Trail, Dazhuhu Trail, Peacock Park, Wenwu Temple, Longfeng Temple, and also many lovely trails and bikeways. The Skylight staff know very well about the environment, and they can make your travel and stay the most enjoyable it can be. Furthermore, we speak your language!

Baby, it's a a beautiful place
Reviewed By mojojoannaHad an amazing time with the nicest host ever. Reached the bnb rather late cos we had a mega travel plan upheaval when we didn't manage to get our rented car. The boss drove us out for dinner and made sure we are well settled. He even provided a cot and sterilizer for us, specially as we are travelling with our lil one. Breakfast was superb with organic free range egg and lady boss even helped us to carry our baby around while we enjoyed our breakfast. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

Great location on lake, everything else mostly downhill
Reviewed By Ron VWe stayed at this place only a single night. It was the most expensive hotel (per night) that we stayed at during out trip in Taiwan. And it was a disappointment to us. First, the good things. The pictures of the rooms looked great. And if you didn’t look close upon entering, the main rooms looked great. The beds were OK and clean. The view from the balcony right on the water was great. The location wasn’t bad (a 700 meter walk along the water from a small village area and pier). They sold tickets to an electric water shuttle for only 200 NTD that left from the next door dock (we had tickets for a different water shuttle that was farther away). They stored our luggage before checkin time and after checkout until our departure. They did give us a ride to the bus station with our luggage upon leaving. But the look of the room was mostly cosmetic. The sofa, upon closer inspection, just was NOT nice (old) and I would not sit on it or put anything on it. There were steps down from the bed area on both sides (towards the bathroom, and towards the balcony…..a real danger at night….this besides the usual step into the bathroom The screens to the balcony had a few holes in them. And the bathroom was a disaster. We found 2 roaches in the bathroom (which, I should add, is right under the kitchen/eating area in the lobby). One of the worst bathrooms I’ve ever seen; mold and mildew all over the caulking. The water flow out of the bathroom faucet sprayed all over the place (needed an aerator). Didn’t want to put anything down on the sinktop because everything felt dirty. But at least we had a shower enclosure. From some reviews/comments I later read, other showers were in the middle of the bathroom with no curtain Ours was in a corner and was fully enclosed by an opaque glass enclosure that desperately needed cleaning. The bathroom was separated from the main room by an old wooden door with slats that did nothing for noise. Nothing like the sound of toilets flushing at night. There was no elevator, and I had to lug 3 large, heavy suitcases through the lobby, then the eating area, out onto a balcony, and then down a flight of stairs to our room (and back up again upon leaving). Breakfast was very limited (and after seeing the roaches under the kitchen in our bathroom, I ate as little as possible). Only served from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Only 4 warm choices plus porridge. One choice of bread. The tables and chairs looked old and not really clean. Just not appealing or particularly tasty. We sat outside for breakfast and did enjoy the views being right “on” the lake.

Reviewed By Kitz VWe stayed here last Dec 2017 and we had an awesome stay. Front desk manager-owner and her companion were very friendly, accommodating and very helpful! They treat you as a friend and go beyond their means to help you with your questions. Our room was very clean and modern style. We loved it! Oh and I remember she defended us to the taxi driver! I love her and her companion! They're heaven sent. Wish I could meet them again! SOrry for the very late review~!

Reviewed By DeividzQuaint hotel with friendly owners. Breakfast was nice with fresh coffee. A must for me. Room was spacious and toilet has a big tub for 2. My kids enjoyed it tremendously. Near enough to the night market. If you sprint, it’ll probably take you 2min. Leisure walk is about 6min. Only downside was a cockroach in our room. Owner says it’s normal during rainy seasons. Only 1 we noted during the 22 hour stay. Highly recommended for comfort and value.
