New hotel that offers everything you need as private or business traveler. High speed internet. At DET GAMLE RADHUS (The OLD TOWN HALL) we serve delicious food in traditional surroundings. We look forward to welcoming you in our restaurant, where we hope you will feel the atmosphere of being set back in time, when grandma was in the kitchen with the family. We have recreated the atmosphere of those days, when classic Danish dishes were created from scratch. The building is worth a visit.
Mixed experience
Reviewed By BartvKConsidering the high price, I expected more from the hotel in terms of service, facilities and food. For this price I would have expected at least a mini-bar and a safe. It is a pity that the office is not staffed. When we complained about the curtains which were not functioning well, it was solved too late (after two days with some lame excuse) and not properly. The breakfast was very basic the first when we were one the few guests. Later on when more guests arrived there were more things to chose from (among which some eggs and more kinds of meat). I would recommend to serve the same breakfast everyday, even if there are only a few guests. However, I have to say that the kitchen took very good care of my wife’s diet. To end with a positive note, we did enjoy our stay at the hotel, the room was comfortable and the birds sang beautifully.

Amazing hospitality, very warm welcome
Reviewed By Davide CWe have been staying with my wife and daughter at Hellesvang B&B on our way back to Sweden from Germany. We arrived at the place in the middle of the night and when we saw the owner, who welcomed us with a warm smile, we were already happy of having chosen this great place. Each room is a mini apartment with a kitchen: a fridge, 2 stoves, microwave and sink and all cooking tools, dishes and glasses and a water boiler. The bathrooms are really new and comfortable as the beds are. Great green areas and playground for kids. It has been the best B&B found in Denmark and its owners are even more special. We will definitely come back and we recommend it 200% to anyone visiting this beautiful area.

Reviewed By hansl610Bought a 3-day stay including breakfast and dinner. The room was big and spacious, but for some reason the temperature was over 30 degrees so we had to open both windows and doors. The window had to stay open for the duration of our stay to keep it cold enough for us. The beds are a bit to the soft side but overall a nice room. On the other hand, the restaurant exceeded our expectations, especially the dinner.

Calm and quiet place

It was very good.The key was fetched in a small box at the entrance with a keycode you got by Mail before. Rom was very big(room 3) with comfortably beds,tv set and and a boiler with coffee and the.This room have ”hotel quality”. The room is on the second floor and When we was there is was hot 31C but there was a cooler into the room WHO was very effektive. Bathroom is big with shower and 2 sinks.A small problem which I have Was the lamps a the hall at second floor,I hit this lamps at least 10 times Maybe a small problem for most people but a crash of the lamp is not good. No especially facilities,it is a b&b except the big garden with chairs and a good parking. You could take a walk to the sea(300m) to the ”Gendarmiestien” It was close to Sönderborg city(4km). The best is the calm and quiet area. This B&B was above my expectations!

Very nice hosts, both rooms were quite, pleasant and spacious, the surroundings were quiet with a great 5 km run around the beautiful lake in the backyard, and the breakfast on the patio was simply excellent. Great area for walking or cycling, and several good eating places in cycling distance. We can highly recommend Bøgebjerggård, just as we can highly recommend the area of Als in general that we’ve enjoyed on several occasions.

Reviewed By jernhestenDecent hotel, clean and bright rooms with fine size for a danish hotel. The rooms are simple but in good condition. Checkin and -out can be done contactless. The outdoor area contains a lot of stairs, so it’s not super easy with a stroller or such, but it worked out. The breakfast was quite boring but nothing to complain about. In general a decent hotel and okay choice to the price.

The management and staff were very polite and helpful at all times. I will be definitely be using Danhostel Sønderborg in the future.

Very poorly
Reviewed By Felix DIt is not worth the money. We regret booking this hotel and wouldn't recommend this hotel anybody. The bathroom is way too small and extrem old. The window is not closing and there is nothing good in the room. It's not possible to sit on the toilet because the toilet stands 15cm next to the wall. After all I wouldn't book it again and we thought about checking out and book in the other hotel 250 meters away.

Nice disaster
Reviewed By 504ivanvThis hotel was really special. On the one end it was terrible but on the other end nice and clean. First surprise. There is no reception. I arrived at sunday evening. Hotel empty, locked and nobody there. I called the number on the doors. But no response. But after one hour I got the keys. Hotel has 16 rooms. My was clean with nice view on the lake. Bathroom was also clear but let say not very big and modern. For the breakfast you need to walk around the bowling, than gym. Than you will pass handball field. You will reach the swimming pool. Than to the left than to the right and you are there :). Just 200 meters. You don't have many choices for breakfast but if you are not very demanding you will find what you need. So. Hotel is clean. Personal perfect. Rooms ok. Internet fast. But is in the middle of nowhere.

Med 36 km. i benene, blev vi mødt af Henning i døråbningen, og sætningen: "I ligner en kold øl" Herefter sad vi med den skønneste udsigt over fjorden og nød en kold øl, hvorefter de dejligste kæmpe hakkebøffer med kartofler ærter og bearnaise blev serveret. Morgenmaden bestod af hjemmebagte boller, hjemmebagt rugbrød, hjemmebagt knækbrød, hjemmelavet syltetøj, blødkogt æg og diverse pålæg plus øko-juice og kaffe og the. Alt dette til en rørende billig pris. Gendarmhuset har fuldt fortjent alle stjerner!!!
