Welcome to Nataiwatch on one of the most beautiful islands of the world!!This island is known as the "Jewel of the Pacific" and is world renowned for its unspoilt beauty.Isle of Pines is approximately 18km long and 14km wide and as its name implies has a prominently pine tree skyline, set against white sand beaches and turquoise lagoons.Guillaume and Eulali KOUATHE are considered pioneers here as they created this guesthouse 31 years ago.
We got an amazing experience in the Nataiwatch Gite. The staff is so friendly, the food is so good and the location so quiet. I recommend it to everyone who want an incredible experience in Isle of Pines

We found everything about this place to be top class. We stayed in the African bungalow which had its own hot tub on the private balcony and a wood fire place for the cooler months. Apéritives were served at 7pm and all the guests (there were a total of 9 when we were there) sat around an open fire chatting together (all in French!) before retiring to the small dining room where we had a delicious home style 3 course meal served by Franck and Nathalie the owners. Highly recommend this charming getaway.

I need to qualify my review by saying that we had just come from the Sheraton in Bourail and absolutely loved that. The step down to this place was very noticeable although it had some charm to it. Our bed was comfortable but out son’s rollaway was like sleeping on a pallet! The place was clean and well cared for. A warning to those coming here from Australia, when you pay your deposit using their strange system, beware as there is a very hefty international tax charged by the banks for the privilege. We paid $50 AUD deposit but didn’t discover until we arrived that only 30 of that was received by the lodge. The food was home style and we had a choice of 1 entree, 3 mains and 3 desserts with the option of having entree/main, main/dessert and all 3. There was a small but adequate wine list at fairly typical New Caledonian prices. Breakfast was a small selection of homemade cakes, yoghurt, fresh fruit and bread with homemade jams and boiled eggs. There was a coffee machine where you could make your own drinks. The staff speak French so brush up on some simple phrases!

Lovely place with fresh products. Service is great as well, people are smiling and very welcoming. I got an entree with seashells and basil, so good ! Also ordered a main meal made of shells as well. The best meal I've had in the North of New Caledonia.

Nëkwéta Surf Camp is set up in a luxurious tropical garden, just 200 meters from the beach. A charming and comfortable Melanesian style hut, built with timber and river stones sets the authentic Caledonian atmosphere. The hut is fully furnished with artful wood work and counts 2 double beds on the mezzanine and 2 single beds on the ground floor. The bar and dining-room are in a large open Faré where a massive table made of local timber sits, surrounded by the garden’s vegetation, for the guests’ delight.
We stayed 4 nights in Nekweta and had a wonderful time. We did boat tours with Manu, who took us to Green Island and to do snorkeling on the reefs near Secrets. Poe Beach is a few minutes drive and offers beautiful coral reefs and vivid blue waters, as well as great tracks with viewpoints from uphill. Sefani and Manu were very friendly and helpful in everything we needed and made our stay as comfortable as possible. Highly recommend for everyone interested in learning about New Caledonia and exploring the beauties around.

Old fashioned bungalows. Not dirty but not very clean. Some old little carpets in the bathroom that look quite scruffy. No cleaning of our bungalow during our whole stay. The host is friendly but not really helpful or even courteous. The meals are overpriced and the quality is poor. You have to order before 4pm (so they may have enough time to take the ingrediences out of the fridge) - if not you can choose between 3 'standard meals'. The breakfast is very sparse. Bread, butter, jam and coffee/tea and one glass of juice. If you would like to get for example an addittional tea, you have to pay extra charge. Imho too ecpensive for what it is.
