The 10 Best Bars & Clubs in Midtown East, New York (NY)

July 10, 2021 Fernanda Pittenger

Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

The overlook bar was right next to our hotel and we had a few drinks and food there and met the manager, with a broad accent and was a great guy!! The satay sampler was some of the best food I’ve eaten and the artichoke and cheese dip was divine. Along with the beers, the atmosphere and ambiance we totally fell In love with this place to have a few drinks as our hotel bar wasn’t up to much!!

Club Bonafide

I just discovered this little place & I love it. They have cabaret shows, about an hour long. I saw 2 shows - the first was a tribute to Marilyn Monroe; the other was a duo, Yael & Gabriel - she’s half French & half Israeli, he’s Argentinian. They played French, Argentine tango, flamenco, gypsy music. Really good. In future they're offering a show of the music of Stevie Wonder; The Temptations; David Bowie; Piaf & other French singers; French jazz & tango; Santa Sing-along, & others. Cover was $20, but you can often find tickets on Goldstar. You do have to buy 2 items - either/or food/drinks. You can take your kids, too, if you want(probably not young kids, but I'd say 10 & up).
