Goorambat Silo Art

Goorambat has 3 painted silos all done by artist Jimmy Dvate. In 2018 the first concrete silo of Millie the Barking Owl was completed along with a steel silo depicting a woodland scene. In 2019, Jimmy returned to paint another steel silo with Clydesdales Sam, Clem and Banjo under working harness. North Vic Trails is a Non Profit Community Group consisting of people from small towns. We are trying to help our rural regional towns suffering in the current climate especially after the drought and bushfires and now COVID 19 restrictions. Through promoting the silo art, other artworks and features for small town communities we hope to increase tourism to the northern regions of Victoria. So come visit us, stay for a bit and enjoy the many fabulous sights we have to offer.

Great experience exploring the NE Victoria silo art trail, AND tasting the local cuisine and beers along the way!

Art Gallery of Ballarat

An interesting and dynamic regional gallery where there is always lots to see. Upstairs, the gallery collection is definitely worth a visit, as the Gallery holds one of the best regional collections in the country and is always looking for interesting, thought-provoking ways of displaying it. Downstairs there are temporary exhibitions, with at least four open at any one time.

The Art Gallery of Ballarat is not impressive from the outside, but inside it is amazing. The first level is mainly visiting exhibitions and contemporary art, and the second level is a selection from the gallery's permanent collection. It has art by many prominent artists, dating from the 19th century and including Australian modernists. The Art Gallery of Ballarat has one of the best collections in Australia.

McClelland Gallery & Sculpture Park

This sculpture park does not appear to be promoted on the Touring Map of the Mornington Peninsula yet it is an outstanding free attraction (it is on google). The grounds are extensive and there is plenty to see, the Tree of Life mobile alone makes it worth while. There’s a gift shop and cafe where you can get a map of the exhibits but we found many more by wandering off the tracks. A great way to spend a sunny afternoon.

Great idea to promote art and dairying. It's always fun to stop and take a few pics. Keep an eye out for any new ones. Glad to see they've won the Tripadvisor award too. .. Where is the cow jumping over the moon ? I must find that on my next trip ....
