While strolling around the beautiful streets of Custer South Dakota on a beautiful mid October afternoon , I came across this lovely lady sunning herself on a bench in front of the store, and we got to talking, and she invited me inside. A wonderful gallery filled with the works of local artists. Not very expensive either. I purchased a beautiful acrylic leaf by coincidence made by the lady I had talked to. And aside from being an excellent artist she answered all my questions about what else to see and where are to eat, and questions about the area and just was very kind and helpful. I highly recommend stopping here.

My kids and I love to come here. I shop and they relax in the Fermob swings under the aspen trees. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and they actually like children. I have found Mothers' Day presents, teachers' gifts, funny cards, and a great sun hat here. It's close to Main Street, but the atmosphere is a world away!

Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries

To some, we are a Native American art gallery; to others, we are a trading post reminiscent of days gone by. On the corner of 6th Street and Main in downtown Rapid City, Prairie Edge stands two stories high and stretches out for half a block as a brick, wood, and glass storefront that has been restored to its original 19th century glory. Inside, the hardwood floors and polished cabinetry bring to mind the spirit of the Old West, while the distinct smell of sweetgrass and soft sound of a Lakota flute evoke the mystique of the Plains Indian culture.

Truly amazing store that's also an art gallery, museum, reference library with a huge collection of Native American art, history, literature. Retail items; clothes, books, cards, dishware, outerware, jewelry, candles, an immense collection of art and beads, and more. Also, helpful and friendly staff - this place is a treasure.

Termesphere Gallery

Dick Termes is an internationally acclaimed artist whose work is recognized from New York to Tokyo. Termes spends several months painting spherical canvases know as Termespheres. These unique, mind-bending works of art are unlike anything you’ve ever seen. In the Black Hills, you have the opportunity to visit the largest collection of Termespheres in the world. The Termesphere Gallery can be found in one of four geodesic domes nestled in a valley just outside of Spearfish, South Dakota. Once inside, you can’t help but marvel as several dozen of his intricate worlds hang and rotate before your very eyes. “His art is magnificent and like nothing that I’ve ever seen before. We actually spent longer there than intended because it’s so interesting and beautiful.”

Reviewed By 19261946

I love taking out of state visitors to enjoy our termespheres. My brother and his wife purchased a globe from Termes and now they can show their west coast friends our treasures. I do enjoy my globe very much.
