Christopher Moller Gallery was formed in 2007. The gallery deals in contemporary art, specialising in art from the African continent. Our goal is to build relationships between our artists and clients. Our building is located on a heritage site, in the heart of the Cape Town city bowl. The gallery hosts regular exhibitions, and participates in both local an international art fairs.

The AVOOVA flagship store is located on the bustling Shortmarket Street in the Centre of Cape Town - surrounded by popular shops, bars and dining experiences. From their workshops in the Karoo, AVOOVA designs and creates exquisitely handcrafted decor, object's d'arts and gifts made out of thousands of pieces of hatched ostrich eggshell. Now the World's leading specialist in this artform, we work hard to support our local community, we use environmentally sustainable material, we endeavour to create work of enduring quality… We are proud to be part of a new African narrative. Welcome to StateoftheART, a boutique art gallery which aims to inspire a new culture of art buying; where quality fine art is affordable, South African artists are championed and customers can easily find and buy from a curated selection of contemporary art - no matter their taste. StateoftheART brings the gallery experience to you; we offer a 'click-to-buy' service for collectors unable to visit our gallery in person. All of our artists have been carefully selected; instead of showcasing thousands of artists, we choose to represent only a limited number so that you can be sure of the quality of the contemporary art for sale. Importantly, the majority of our proceeds from a sale are given to the artists who create these works, so when you buy art from StateoftheART you’re directly supporting our artists. Our online art platform is complemented by a physical space in Cape Town; you'll find us at 50 Buitenkant Street.

The Gallery represents two Cape Town artists, Grant Oxche and Mekhala van der Schyff, exclusively specialising in portraiture using oils on canvas and mix media. Part of the focus is to capture the diversity of different people of the continent in all its splendour trying to portray not only their visual beauty, but also their emotions.

A working artists studio situated in trendy Woodstock where you can meet the artists, see how things are made, enjoy browsing our store for unique handmade gifts and souvenirs - and book a private art lesson if you have time! We are a social enterprise, so your support helps us keep 20 previously disadvantaged artists employed.
