Villa Medici del Vascello

An admirable synthesis between military architecture and suburban noble villa, it was built in 1407 and underwent significant architectural changes during the 17th and the 18th centuries. It hosted Cecilia Gallerani, the "Lady with an Ermine" portrayed by Leonardo da Vinci. At the beginning of the 19th century, a wide typically English park-garden was realized. Various buildings and artistic manufacture as well as not only autochthonous vegetable species embellish and enrich it.
