TL;DR all the food they serve (and some of the liquor) comes from the farm where the restaurant sits (or the water a couple hundred meters away), is among the best I have ever tasted, and is served with a genuine, ear-to-ear smile. We found The Boutique Farmers online and decided to visit during our first trip to Hua Hin. After that experience, we have promised ourselves to visit on every trip to Hua Hin.We arrived at the spot and I was immediately greeted by a sign touting ‘ARTISANAL GINS’ so already we were off to a good start. The gin was sublime but incidental to the overall experience. My wife, who doesn't like gin (nobody can be perfect) was offered a selection of rums to choose from.If you’ve ever enjoyed farm-to-table, nose-to-tail dining before, you come in the door expecting creativity and this place delivered. We were present for and ordered the Chef’s Journey which is apt moniker: in addition to the wonderful variety of fresh flavors, we enjoyed interacting with Chef James through the kitchen pass-through, on the floor, and, ultimately, on the table LOLDue to the nature of the concept, the menu will vary based upon the season and schedule but, by way of example, we had*: -a yummy ceviche-style duck salad thingy smothered in fried duck egg-a yummy little terrine-a yummy pea soup with smoked ham that'll make your momma cry-yummy stuffed chicken breast flavor bombs with the sweet/smoky/hot little peppers-a yummy fresh fig crumble brûlée for dessert, served in cute little baby copper saucepans-also a couple of handsful of freshly-picked mulberries as a conversation piece, straight from the washing bowl. They were, of course: yummy.*I'm sure these dishes all had names but who cares; they won't be the same ones you get when you are there.I guess for some people it is important to manage expectations. I feel that "this place is in the middle of the farm" should suffice though, as somebody who grew up on and around farms, I found it to actually be very refined *for a farm*. The decor is rough-hewn, but heavily lacquered wood. The music, for our visit, was a funk band that covers alt-rock and contemporary hip-hop. While the concept of the restaurant is almost the antithesis of 'convenience', we did through the course of dinner observe the chef catering to the needs of children and vegetarians alike.
