Reviewed By JohnAnonAnonyThe room, linens, bathroom, bar fridge and microwave were clean. Near the coat rack was a folding luggage rest that came in handy too. Room has heating/ac unit with full temperature control access also a recycling box next to trash can under the sink. Their lobby has an amazing DVD library. The large open lobby is where they provide a nice continental breakfast and it has many tables with a TV usually playing news. Also its located fairly central with so many places within walking distance like the marina, beaches, LCBO, and several restaurants, pubs, and stores that (at least all the ones we visited) were very good! Plus the staff & owners are very friendly which shows they take a great deal of pride ensuring the hotel is a cozy place to stay. Next trip up I'll definitely stay there again!

Even though it was -15 out it was still nice and warm plus the Lil heater is there if needed. The only small drawback is the hot water in the shower was lacking. But other than that we will definitely be staying there again when we are in the area and need a place to stay.

They called me to ask what I wanted them to do with it. I asked for it to be mailed COD. They obliged without hesitation. THAT IS SERVICE. Highly recommended

When I booked this room (several months ago)..., I specially asked for a handicapped room on the bottom floor as I have mobility issues. Upon our arrival, I was quite disappointed with the bathroom. I was not impressed with their version of what a handicapped bathroom should look like... There was no hand-held shower wand, no heavy-duty "anti-slip" bath mat for inside the tub..., no grab bars mounted on the tub surround and no plastic bench seat inside the tub allowing me to sit while having a shower...! These are essential items for guests who have mobility issues and for the price we paid for this room for one night ($170.00 + tax)..., this was totally unacceptable!! Additionally..., the toilet became plugged (wouldn't flush properly) and my wife had to obtain a plunger from the front desk to resolve this nasty problem.....! Also..., the restaurant was not available to guests because they had a wedding booked..., complete with loud music and fireworks until midnight...., something I believe should have been brought to my attention long before we arrived at this motel so we could make alternative arrangements for lodging.... We will NOT be staying at this motel again!

Reviewed By trishmA804NGWe were visiting family in Haileybury, and my husband and I decided to stay at the edgewater. upon checking in the owner "John" was very pleasant but I found the reception area to be alittle dirty, we asked to look at the room before deciding to stay. The room although outdated seemed to be clean and we decided to stay. about 2 and a half hours of being there my husband went to the grocery store and I decided to have a shower, I heard my shitsu barking and thought that my husband was getting back from the grocery store but it was actually hotel owner John who just decided to let himself in with no notice or knock on the door!! when I asked him to please leave immediately, he gave me attitude saying something about an electrical panel and did not leave right away. I was beyond creeped out. My husband had stern words with John and we left immediately. John refused to refund us! people please do not stay at this motel. the owner is a lunatic and pervert.

Reviewed By Pet37Decent hotel. Friendly staff. Continental breakfast included which was decent. Comfy beds. Seems like they have done a bit of Reno but some things still outdated and old like the Kleenex holder and chair. Fridge in room. You can access your room from inside or your patio door which was super convenient.

Clean rustic cabins with a great host!!
Reviewed By Matthew TWe stayed at Mowat Landing Cottages for 3 nights. We had a fantastic time! Trevor was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay! Cottage # 3 - "The Love Shack". Great clean small cabin with King sized bed. Nice deck with BBQ. Great views of the river from inside or on the deck! The kitchen has everything you need - microwave, stove, oven, fridge, pots, pans, utensils, glassware, dishes, etc... No problems at all encountered with any of the appliances. Nice clean bathroom too. Amenities: - No cell phone service, and wifi service that runs a little slow but manageable. - Boats - we rented a 16' Aluminum boat for a couple days. Trevor was amazing - did a great walk-through of it, and showed us some hot fishing spots on the lake! Rental prices were good, and he has life jackets also. Plus there's canoes, kayaks, and other boats for rent. - He has a lot of firewood chopped and ready - all included in the price. - Bring your own soaps, shampoo, and towels - they are not provided. But the bed linen is. - There's a little store on site in the office with a lot of canned goods for purchase in case you need to compliment the food you bring. They sell fishing equipment and bait too. The Area: - The cottage is 15 minutes off of Highway 11. - Government dock/boat launch is next door. River edges are very shallow, so boats with a stern drive may not get into the Mowat Landing docks. Mowat Landing is as advertised. Totally 5-star in terms of friendliness and cleanliness!
