The experience we had was excellent despite the hotel being full of conference delegates and big wigs with security guards Obviously most hotels in UZB will not be the same and we have stayed in a number of delightful small ones with local hosts. But at the end of a long tour this was the hotel to finish on Wonderful spacious rooms with lots of high tech features. A great pool and spa and wonderful pizzas in the outside top floor Restaurant . Breakfast simply stunning Although it appears a way away from the main town the metro is easily walkable and we saw all of Tashkent easily but using this amazing system of trains sn unforgettable stations

Top Hotel

This hotel bookended our tour of lovely Uzbekistan with 1 night on arrival and 1 pre departure. It is so nice we only wish it could’ve been our base for the whole tour, impossible I know but one can wish. Well located for metro, independence square etc. Room is well equipped, WiFi is excellent, aircon could be a bit cooler.Bed super comfy, easy to operate safe. Hotel has currency exchange ( via Atm ) - change money on arrival as it gets harder in Khiva, Bukhara etc. Nice coffee bar , breakfast is superb with proper coffee and eggs cooked to order .Much more appreciated on return having experienced the other tourist sites! Food in evening restaurant was also lovely, the best of the tour , as was the breakfast. The bar is well stocked and we finally found a Gin and Tonic … at $15 , but it was a generous measure and as it was imported ( Bombay Sapphire) I thought the price was fair enough and similar to a top hotel in UK . The prices were a shock to some in our party , as was the service charge , but again only in comparison to what we had seen in the other stops en route,. Beer however was the standard 30k S’om ( $3) . This is a really nice hotel and a pleasure to stay there.

Excellent and clean facilities. Very friendly staff who made sure we felt very welcomed during our stay. Very good location in the city and overlooking a park which has a few restaurants and bars inside. Very quick checkin and checkout. My birthday was not until end of the month but the hotel still sent cake to the room. Very nice and kid of them. I would definitively recommend it.

Great looking hotel, inadequate infarstructure

Reviewed By Cartagena2019

The hotel is very nice to look at with plenty of traditional touches; rooms are large well appointed and people in Uzbekistan are uniformly nice and helpful. However, the restaurant is woefully inadequate, they offer no a la carte service and the "buffet" only has one dish, and the worse still is that you can only get espresso (or anything e se at the bar) after 3pm!!! The souvenir shops is truly tiny, one would expect much bigger choice for those who have no time to go to the bazar as I did (mostly closed on Mondays)

A gem of a hotel and with rising stars too!

Reviewed By ChuJoe

Marriott's only hotel in Uzbekistan seemed to have been built and prepped for a 5-star future, rather than its currently advertised 4 stars. In general, the hotel's hardware is up to world class standard (read capsule coffee maker, USB charging points, etc.), and the staff well-trained with a few notable stars. Salikh was responsive and helpful with our pre-arrival arrangements such as the airport transfer and early check-in. Evalina from the front desk is a rising Concierge star of Tashkent - every one of her recommendations were spot-on and were sincerely made to our best interests. The house-keeping supervisor was also excellent in her communication and kept our rooms immaculate (we checked-in twice in 2 weeks).  They are Courtyard's soft treasures!  Breakfast is a substantial spread and the rooms offer comfortable indoor and alfresco spaces.  We did not try the indoor heated swimming pool nor sauna but the photos looked inviting. The nearest metro station is a 20-minute brisk walk away but yandex taxis are plentiful and never cost more than UZS25k (comfort-type; about $2!), including to the Afrosiyob train station and international airport. Finally, Courtyard happily stored one of our luggages until our second check-in date. Highly recommended!

Swindlers who lie and waste your time

Reviewed By S9043GPshirleyt

I called the Toshkant location and negotiated a price for a 3 night stay. The guy I spoke to Dec 17 2021 (the hotel can check who was working) told me he had to “check with his manager” about the price. Well for 2 days this same guy phoned me 3 times and he said the manager finally agreed to the price. The time we spent talking was 2 hours. Relived that we found a hotel to stay at for the next 3 days, I reiterated the price and this guy said “no, that’s the price for ONE day.” WTF? This guy knew since the beginning of our phone conversations knew I was negotiating a 3-day stay. And even if he thought he was being clever in saying the price we negotiated was for a 1 day stay, why would I want to pay higher that what the Aster hotel—- and ANY other hotel in Toshkant was advertising for for 1 night? That’s like saying 1 apple costs 2 SOMS. I want 3 so I will give you 5 SOMS and the vendor tells you— after 2 hours and several phone calls over the course of 2 days—- “ok we agree: give me 5 SOMS for ONE apple”! These guys are swindling time-wasters. Maybe because it’s low travel season, they feel they can waste people’s time and cheat them. Maybe he thought I would just roll over because I had spent so much time with him on the phone. Well, I’m a very experienced traveller and had back up hotels. I’m also a WOMAN who has been to over 125 countries and know this $&&@ game this guy plays. Luring, lying, greed, and cheating is against the PILLARS of ISLAM! Well, we ended up staying at ANOTHER Toshkant hotel for 3 nights for the price I negotiated with Aster in the beginning. And Aster, for those 3 nights, remained EMPTY. BEWARE of these &&@“s!
