Anotherwonderful meal here. We took friends who had never eaten here before and now they say they want to return often. Forget the places that haul in prepared foods, laden with preservatives, from far away to serve you,. This place bakes its own Turkey, no rolled processed loaf meat, and bakes its own cakes, pies and even apple dumplings and uses local produce whenever possible and always fresh. Every waitress, cook and owner greets and makes you feel at home when you eat here. On this occasion, we ate: one roast Turkey platter (just like grandma's Thanksgiving Day feast and even with leftovers to take home, too); one superb fried chicken dinner, one baked, stuffed pork chop dinner and one fried oyster platter - all with enough food to feed a lumberjack and all fresh and excellent. Next time we will try other items and save room for the homemade, triple-layer cakes. The Hummingbird cake was the thrill of a lady to the table to our right. Ate every crumb and then took home a piece for another time. A triple layer, it had pineapple, mandarin oranges, coconut and pecans and all topped with cream cheese icing. Whoa... I'm eyeing the chocolate with peanut butter frosting myself. And the prices are so reasonable, you do not save this place just for a special celebration; every day here is a special celebration... in eating.

My husband and I stayed at Antrim 1844 last week and enjoyed dinner and breakfast at the Smokehouse Restaurant. We loved the great service, especially for dinner. It could not have been better. Dinner began with h'dourves in the living room area. We did not find them memorable; certainly not as we remember from other visits. But we did enjoy getting to know other guests. The Ahi appetizer and the Potato Leek soup were wonderful. But the Veal and Filet Mignon were not up to par. The filet was not very tender and the veal did not have much taste. It was disappointing. However, we did the wine pairing and loved the choices SO, we will go again and hope The Smokehouse was just not having its best night this past time.

Okay, I've got these guys on speed dial. When it's my turn to cook, I call Tim and order up another great hand-tossed pizza. They do offer wings, salads, desserts and drinks, too, but it's the pizza that brings you back.

This is just a great, family-owned establishment. While they have no eat-in capabilities, you can pick up your order or have it delivered. Try it once...you'll be back.

Off the beaten path, assuredly. But if you're traveling through and are hungry, stop in.

Tony's is family-owned and operated, specializing in homemade pastas, pizzas, sandwiches and American fare in a quiet, clean, comfortable atmosphere. No glitz, no glamor. Just good, affordable homemade food.

Try their thick pizzas...if you think you're hungry enough. If not, the thin-crust pizzas are excellent, too.

If you just want to stop in for a drink, they offer a quaint bar on the other side.

Thunderhead Bowl & Grill features 16 Tenpin & 12 duckpin bowling lanes for league play and open play! We feature quick casual dining for families and friends which features more than just hamburgers and hot dogs. We also have special rates for large groups and parties!

I knew the bowling alley served food, and I got what I expected. It was good, not great. Service was definitely subpar. But we went for bowling, not the food. They were very accommodating regarding our time bowling duckpins. We had two four year-old kids and managed to keep them entertained. I think the place is kid friendly. Going to Thunderhead is an experience worth doing. I will visit again when I go back home.

The restaurant was clean. That is likely the only positive thing I could say about this experience. Whenever we go to this spot we typically get the pizza, which on most occasions is decent. Sometimes we get the wings, which are average. On this occasion we chose to try the pasta. Never again. The edges of nearly all pasta was dried up and hard. More than over cooked. There was nearly no sauce and even less cheese. When I got there, employees were all standing around doing absolutely nothing, yet no one acknowledged me at all. When the person taking pizza out of the oven came over to attend to me, she was unbelievably rude. She acted as though I was inconveniencing her by pulling her away from what she was doing. Meanwhile other employees are just watching us, watching her bad attitude and just continuing with their discussion, as though this is the norm. I docked a star for poor food, another for terrible customer service, and one more for an overall lousy experience.
