Reviews on Taiwanese food in Taipei, Taiwan. You can eat very well—and very cheaply—in Taipei. The restaurants may not look posh, but the quality of the food is superlative. And there’s a huge variety of restaurants—in addition to local Taiwanese specialties, you’ll find regional cuisines from all over China, as well as great Indian, Japanese and even Italian options. Just make sure to leave some room for snacks—street-vendor food here is addictive.

If there is a Din Tai Fung in any city that I am visiting, I try to stop by for a meal. If you are a fan of dim sum, this place can not be beaten. This location is the very first Din Tai Fung that I ever went to ten years ago. I was back in Taipei for business and I had to stop by again. I went on a Sunday afternoon and the wait for a table was 80 minutes. I did not fret, I simply ordered take out which was ready in 15 minutes. I got a bubble tea from the place next door then walked down the street to Chiang Kai Shek park and ate my fabulous lunch. This meal is always a treat, I wish there were one in Washing tom DC

Din Tai Fung Tianmu Branch lives up to the high quality of food and service offered by every other Din Tai Fung branch I have dined at. The wait was almost an hour but we ended up spending most of it deciding on what to order and they put the order in before we were seated so we ended up getting our food quickly. It is a bit expensive for dumplings but the quality measures up to it.

I always come here whenever I crave vegetarian dimsum! The food arrives to the table really fast and itâs good for family gatherings. There is a wide variety of things to eat. I would highly recommend this restaurant to those who are vegetarian!

This was our third and final Din Tai Fung restaurant of our trip and it certainly lived up to the standards set by the other two we visited. Amazing dumplings, tremendous service and a fair price, what more could you want!

Having previously reviewed (favourably) and frequented this establishment for ten years plus, this update is about the service received this year, relevant to non-Chinese speakers. Din Tai Fung have made considerable effort to accommodate English (and it appears other languages) able or speaking clientele. They first confirm if your preferred language is English or not. They then proceed to provide you with an English order form accompanied by an English menu and more often than not, a queue number which is then announced in term in English. The waiter/ waitress is well aware of the language difference and make a conscious effort to liaise accordingly. Aside from these brilliant improvements, having been advised of a fifteen-minute wait when ordering the pork and prawn pot stickers, in this instance, they also actively ensured (on more than one occasion) the dishes would arrive promptly. Lastly you can never fault service with a smile and they make sure of this with an internal weekly/monthly chart of top three best service/manners award. Kudos to all these small changes, which makes a huge difference.

Let´s start with the bad things: you cannot reserve and the queue is incredibly long.Everything else is absolutely stunning, food quality incredibly high, the service is very good and focused considering the amount of people they are serving, and it is very good value for money considering that they have been awarded with a Michelin star. you can have a meal with 2-3 different type of dumplings at around 20 â¬

I highly recommend you to go to the old shop which is their headquarter. The food are still much better than the other branches. Be prepare to line up for at least 30 minutes, even it is the odd hours.

Opened its door on 1965, Umeko Taiwanese Restaurant authentic Taiwanese cuisine serving international guests for over fifty years with top quality produce and the irreplaceable ingredients of pride, tradition, and excellence. Located in Historic Liu Tiao
In principle, Iâd give 4.5 stars as it really is a good restaurant with very friendly waitresses (who even speak a bit of English, especially the elder lady owner)... the only âproblemâ was that I had eaten in the sister restaurant (right opposite) the night before. Dear kla2015Thank you for sharing your "problem" with us and we are delighted that you visited both our Umeko Taiwanese Restaurant and Japanese Restaurant right across the street from each other. There are very few restaurants in Taipei over 50 years of same-owner history, we are very proud of this fact. We also want to THANK YOU for your support and happy that you enjoyed your dinning experiences twice.
