We dined here on our first and second nights at the related hotel (a la carte the first time and degustation the second). Both meals were highly impressive and memorable. The local ingredients were a highlight, but so too the rustic decor, excellent and knowledgeable service, beautiful presentation and preparation (a real feast for the eyes and mind) and a good selection of Swiss wines. Definitely on the return list. This restaurant easily deserves its star.

The cruise boat on the Lake of Zug holds just in front of this garden restaurant. Middle in the nature, the Rigi mountain provides the shadow. Family type setting, the owners are involved. Not sophisticated but good value for money. Slight improvements of the menus would be helpful .

We had booked this small restaurant for enjoying the sunset while having fondue. We were not disappointed. The view was fantastic, the fondue very good. To add to the experience, the locals started playing the accordion challenging each other with different tunes. Nice to be far away from the tourist crowd!

Whilst some restaurants in Europe can be a little conservative and stodgy, we were really impressed with this one. Fine dining but in a really modern setting with fabulour view over the lake. The waiters were friendly, attentive but not intrusive. The menu had a good range and the food was exciting and well plated on delivery - indeed the presentation of a number of items was exciting when it arrived. All the little things from tablecloths, glassware, crockery smacked of a sharply run venue - more than just a 'hotel restaurant'. The prices were not cheap but not unreasonable compared to other restaurants in the Lucerne region. We had a group of six and were well taken care of. The place was almost full on a Wednesday night, ranging from romantic couples to fours and sixes. If you want good food, excellent service in a modern setting, you would not go wrong here.

Visiting Restaurant Rigi for the first time, I was surprised to meet some familiar faces. Indeed, since November 2018, Restaurant Rigi has been home to the whole team of Gasthof Rössli in Goldau (now closed). In the bright dining room I enjoyed a very good meal in uncomplicated atmosphere. As for the staff, Mira still provides the same great service as earlier. The menu remains the same as in Rössli Goldau, offering traditional Swiss specialties in generous portions. As starter I chose the garlic cream soup, interestingly served inside a carved bread. Revigorating and very flavourful - a must-eat for garlic lovers! As main course the classic Veal Cordon-Bleu proved very tasty, crispy without bring greasy. As dessert I indulged myself with the homemade vanilla parfait with Baileys. Tasty and refreshing. Prices remain pleasantly moderate for Swiss standards. The bill amounted to CHF73 - outstanding value for money.
