L'Esplanade

Ambience: panoramic view of the lake, nice dining area Service: waiters were efficient, friendly and attentive. Food: we each ordered a starter, a petite Malakoff which consisted of half a dozen of Malakoff balls, salad, large figue and wild boar dried meat. We are in Mid Oct in the middle of the game season is Switzerland. Big portion with local and seasonal flavours. The main dish was the filet de perche from the lake Geneva itself, fresh of the day. Delicious served with vegetables and steamed rice. Finished of with a dessert, moelleux au chocolat with white Toblerone chocolat inside. Again generous and delicious. I ordered a vervienne tea which was prepared from real leaves and not those powdered sachets.Good address and most likely we will return with friends for a meal.

Restaurant De l'Union

Be sure to know the oppening - closing hours of the restaurants... or you might be not very well received... that was my mistake... but after that... leaving the romantic lunch aside and getting into a more practical approach... it was reasnable... not to repeat again... regarding price... they have a cheapper menu so you'll spend something like 50chf for a 2 persons meal.

As a resident of Rolle for 13+ years and a previous customer who enjoyed this restaurant i was very disappointed however it has been pointed out to me that this place has changed hands since i last ate there and reviewed.Firstly this place is really nice - friendly and professional waiting staff, great decor and nice ambience. Then food... good salad starter ...and well it should be at 13 fr.Main course - entecote that uner previous ownership was a shining star here - now very thin and is it even entrecote - for 37 fr??For me a fondue motie motie - grainy and watery - sent it back. Apologies made and accepted and replacement much better. But here is the killer. For me no dessert just "cafe cognac" as every swiss resto serves - standard coffee and a house cognac, right? It was nice - so i ask for another. When i get the bill each single cognac charged at 22 fr EACH. So i check - house cognac is 22 fr a single shot?? YES they say. I ask maybe they should warn customers? They say this is house cognac.I am reasonable - i pay - i go away - never to return. Hold these bandits to account.Absolute thieves. Do NOT let them rip you off.
