Here is old eel restaurant.
A bowl of eel and rice is one of famous food in this area. Japanese call this food "Unaju"
The Unaju has three grades. Price is 3000-5000 JPY.
Eel is grilled and is tasted by teriyaki sauce. Unaju has soup and pickles.
In holiday lunch time, you need to wait for long time. I recommend to go this restaurant in weekday.

諏訪地域にはいくつかうなぎ割烹料理屋がありますが、古畑は私のお気に入りです。こちらは中が柔らかいのはもちろん、周りが他の鰻屋よりも固めに感じます。それが私のお気に入りポイントです。雰囲気は昔ながらの建物のためデート向けとは言えませんが、大きなテーブルのある畳席もありますので家族にもオススメです。
This is my favourite restaurant. There are few restaurants around Suwa city. Furuhata provide unagi well grilled for crispy outlayer which is one of reason here is my reason.
Interior is traditional Japanese with tatami seat for groups so that traveler from overseas can enjoy it.

We had lunch here on a weekday afternoon. The four of us each chose a different entree; they were all very good, and fairly typical fare in a western-style Japanese restaurant. Everything was fresh and nicely prepared. What sets it off, though, is the soup, salad, bread, and beverage bar that comes with the meal. The salad produce was very good, with several dressing choices, the bread tasted like it was just out of the oven, and there was a good selection of non-carbonated beverages. Service was friendly and pleasant, and the dining room is quite attractive, overlooking the lake.

10年以上前にスノボ帰りに友人に連れて行って貰ってから、諏訪に行った時はほぼ毎回行くのですが、何味と聞かれると答えに困ってしまう不思議な味です。
ピリッと辛味があるんだけど後から甘さが出てくる。
あまり体験したことがない味なんだけど、止まらなくなってしまいます。
最近はまだ子供が小さいのであまり行けてませんが久々に行っても美味しかったです。
スキーやスノボで冷えてもここラーメンを食べると元気になれます。

They serve variety eggs as fresh as enough to eat raw. "Tamago Gohan" raw egg on steamed rice is traditional Japanese breakfast. Omelette rice which is western inspired Japanese cuisine is loved by Japanese for long. its worth to give a try;)

魚介でこってりという意味のネーミングなのでしょうが、あっさりとした一品です。あっさりであるが故の細麺なのだと思います。「ぎょっ」の方は魚粉の香って感じでした。一押しはむしろチャーシューです。大きく、分厚く、ほろほろ。チャーシュー麺を食べてみたいです。

この店のたれは甘めだが、しつこくなく切れがいいので、甘いけどもたれるようなことはない。信州の田舎だから、甘い＝うまいだったのだと思う。うな重でそのたれがご飯にかかっていると、いくらでも食べられそうで、減量の身にはちょっと辛い。うなぎのほか、川エビ、わかさぎなんていう諏訪湖の名物も味わうことができる。

Although only a few spoke a few words of English, the menu has pictures and the corresponding English translation. I had the horse meat and venison! Absolutely awesome! Also had sashimi and could not fault it. Everything that came out of the kitchen was perfect! If you're not from around here and are looking for something to eat, definitely drop by here! They're all so friendly and the place was full of people! It's when I visit places like this that I thank Tripadvisor! Most certainly lived up to its 5 stars for atmosphere, food and the prices are reasonable!

極太の麺にごろごろ野菜❗なんとも豪快なほうとう。それもそのはず、もともとは武田軍の戦場食だった。信玄候の兵士に対する思いやりの温かい味だ。
