I appreciate the concept they are trying to convey here, but the place is just too small. A bit pricey for a small serving size. Tends to be too noisy and somewhat a bit pretentious.

Bean, Green and Cream Coffee Shop

Reviewed By The_Spy_Goat - Manila, Philippines

I go here for the free wifi. There I said it. The password didn't change in the 6 months I've been going there, so sometimes I just hang around the nearby staircase outside the cafe and browse.
BGC's got pretty decent cakes. Stay away from the banoffee though. It's better to just order off the hot menu. They make a pretty mean carbonara! Dining in Surigao is pretty cheap, and this one is relatively pricy yet is still cheaper than the Manila average. Their specialty coffees don't go past the 100-peso mark, if I remember correctly.
Coffee? The espresso's pretty standard with the requisite brown foam and all. This is the most accessible place you can go to for specialty coffee. Bastie's the best in Surigao, but that one's near the airport. If you can't haul your bum that far, BGC will do.
Its location is good--no, strategic. It's situated near 2 bars, and anyone looking for a booster after a night of drinking will surely flock to this place. It's also near the plaza and to at least 3 ATMs, so yeah.
The proprietor's pretty cute too.

The place is located near pier 1. They have nice chicken barbeque, etc. By the way, their store is air-conditioned and the price is affordable. Try this place when you are in Surigao City.

Sabeth was a stall before, near the port side. The city cleaned up the place and they had to transfer ..they found a small place also near the port.
Flavor wise, this is the best, even my daughters can attest to this!!!
Their 'puso' rice ( rice wrapped in coconut leaves, an art in itself, is quite hard, but everyone is allowed to bring their own rice!!
Grilling is done outside the dining area...place is so small, can be crammed during weekends, holidays like All Saints Day when no one wants to cook!!!
It's an everyday dining, casual...
You can call in advance to have the grilled foods ready...they also have local sausages (chorizo), chicken gizzard, heart, head, neck and other delicacy parts of the chicken.

Although the attendants were... "attentive," service was still slow. We also noticed that their food portions were small for the price we paid for (prices are usually P100++ per viand). Taste was okay and nothing special to write home about. We probably won't be eating here again as there are other restaurants in the vicinity that offer more bang for the buck.

The choices of pizza toppings are many, a lot more than you might find in your own country.
Some of the toppings are questionable if you have western tastes. You just wouldn't mix those ingredients together.
No mozzarella cheese in these areas of Mindanao, so you will have to be happy with the 'quick melt' variety.
Pizza crust was well made. Price is very cheap by western standards - ridiculously cheap really.

There was a whole assortment of seafood and it was fresh! We ate the crab and lobster which we chose was still alive and wriggling. Their cooking style was of standard to your specifications and service was prompt.
Price wise is unbeatable or unfounded in any cities for such seafood in a proper restaurant, but i suppose it will only be cheaper if you go to the market across the road and cook it yourself at home. They surprisingly also accept credit cards for those short of cash. I highly recommend this place to seafood lovers.

was in this place a couple of days ago and found the owner very warm and tried to introduce us with their food. that evening and that first impressions got stuck in my mind so that I came back eager to be served again. this time, it was a total let down. was it because the owner wasn't there anymore? like the proverbial cat-away-mouse-will-play? no one said hello when i came in and i was ok with that since they were having their lunch break on lunch hour (for a food place i'm wondering if this is appropriate). i had a terrible headache that i sat on the corner lounge and no one bothered to ask or check their customer, well even just for his order. ok, let's say i have to go to the counter to get my orders.
the worse part was when one of their crew (i think he was the cook, saw his picture on the looped vid) gave this very loud sneezing. i thought that was quite off, he stood and went to the door and he burped out loud his meal. that's pretty disgusting to think that this is the cook. then he gave another sneeze as he passed by the electric fan, and a handful more loud sneezes! for a food place this is a big no-no! i couldn't help it anymore that i stood up and reprimanded him. his virus must be all over the place by now. and i could have caught it myself. how about the food that they are preparing? well, i'm sure the gazillion viruses were all over the food as well. the guy didn't even apologize but looked me and went back watching his anime.
i've had it and left the place feeling disgusted.

I loved the food and the waiting staff were friendly and attentive. The location may not be too appealing but could be compensated once the hot food gets on your table. Prices for the food were affordable. However, the food took longer than expected to serve (I ordered fruit shake along with burgers, babyback ribs, etc and the fruitshake arrived 20 minutes later and the other food arrived several minutes more). It was 3pm and there were only two customers there. Still I enjoyed the food.
