Cristina's

Our family had a late breakfast/early lunch here since my son in law charged his car nearby.Everybody really liked their food. I had over easy eggs, hash browns, great tasting local sausage patty, and toast. The place is eclectic due to the unusual items on the walls and the claims on the menu that most food is local sourced. Overall, a decent place to stop if you have all the time in the word since the service was sloooowww (only one waitress, but only 3 tables were occupied). Took almost 20 minutes for the waitress to take our orders.

I think this is a nice place to stop for vanilla or chocolate ice cream in a wide variety of options and sizes. You walk up to the window to order and could sit down at a couple of the benches in the parking lot it occupies, but it's more to take on the run. I am a bit dismayed that their "flavors" are simply chemical additives to the vanilla version, so you aren't really getting what you're asking for. If they stuck with the basics, it would be quite good.

The Historical Homemaker Bakery And Cafe

Reviewed By jehenson81

When I stopped to visit the Strasburg Emporium, I saw this little cafe and opted to stop in when I was done. It is a combination bakery and cafe and I immediately went to the bakery cases when I got in. The pies looked amazing, but I gravitated towards the cupcakes as I didn't think I could eat a whole pie. They had red velvet which were my favorite, but I opted to get an oreo one. It was 2.50 for one plus tax which was very reasonable and the cupcake was normal size with lots of icing. The cupcake itself was chocolate and very moist, but overall not too sweet. The icing made up for that as it was super sweet and tasted just like the oreo filling. It was great.

New american dining without a chain name. Handcut Steaks, homemade recipes, original and unique plates and options.

Not a lot of ambiance or theme decorations but really friendly service and good food. We had the same dinner, Cowboy Salad, so I can’t comment on other menu items but what we had was delicious. Just off I81, right next to the Ramada.

I've stopped at Castiglia's for lunch several times while traveling along I-81. This time, we had dinner. It was very good, as usual. I had ravioli, which came with a salad, and my wife had pizza. We both enjoyed our meals. The prices are reasonable and the servers are very nice. We'll go back.

Hotel Strasburg

Reviewed By John I - Clifton Park, New York

We are interstate people. Any chain near our name brand hotel is fine. We have been in Stasburg before and thought we would experiment. Worked out well. The hotel is dated, and much on the walls seems to be from antique festivals. Not original artifacts. And the tables and chairs had a funky mismatch of patterns and designs.

But - the food and service were surprisingly good. Our female waitress (Alex?) greeted us in the reception area (to the hotel) and showed us to the dining room. There was a large party in the tavern, so she had to split her efforts between the two. She did a great job. Wife's large meatloaf and mashed potatoes was much to her liking. I couldn't believe the size and flavor of my Atlantic salmon. Just delicious. So much so that I did not attempt to use the lemon that I usually ask for. The vegetable medley was acceptable, even though I don't like steamed cherry tomatoes.

I would recommend giving this place a try. Historic and one-of-a-kind.

Ciro's Italian Restaurant and Pizza

Very friendly staff including the owner, Ciro, who chats with customers in between directing the kitchen activity. I had an outstanding baked manicotti with a nice house salad. The wine selection is very limited so I ordered beer. For a local restaurant in a very small town, this is a great place for an excellent meal at a reasonable price.

My boyfriend and I were in town for the weekend, and were completely unfamiliar with the area. We decided to give this place a try for dinner. The service was warm and super friendly and the prices were great. I had an omelette with home fries, and my boyfriend had the creamed chipped beef over home fries. Both of our meals were delicious, and were the perfect size. Overall, a great stop for typical diner food.

Fox's Pizza Den

Reviewed By Don H - Strasburg, Virginia

It's been awhile since we ate at Fox's so when my wife suggested going in for lunch, we did. The salad bar has a lot to choose from plus I really liked the shredded lettuce rather than just cut up like most other places. The pizza was very good although I noticed after it sat on the plate a little while, the underside of the pizza was a little greasy. No problem; still good. They only put out 3 pizzas at a time so sometimes the selection might not be too good; however, the day we stopped by we had no complaints. For $5.99 for all the salad and pizza you can eat including drinks, you can/t beat the price. We'll go back again!

We are glad to eat at a Subway for a quick and tasty fresh sandwich lunch. We usually order a featured $5 foot-long and split it between the two of us. Where else can you dine for $2.50 per person?....

Subway is always clean and always fresh....hundreds of variety topping combinations...fresh baked bread...nice friendly and efficient sandwich makers, whom you can watch as they make your sandwich. Nothing is hidden here.

As they say, "EAT FRESH!"....YUMMY! So, when we are "rolling along down the highways of life" we frequently look for Subway signs, because Subway keeps us rolling along!
