Ouro Preto is a university city, so nothing there can cost much! It's also an important destination for tourists from all over the world, and eating there is a must!I had found Adega before and always choose it for my lunch break. The variety of home-made typical food to sample is great! Also, one pays 35 reais to eat as much as one wants, 48 reais per kilo or 15 reais per plate (so much it fits on a plate with 2 cuts of meat); 1l fresh fruit juice costs 10 reais, perfect, I eat nowhere else when in Ouro Preto!

In an old building, beautifully restored, there is this café and a book store on one level and Tourisi Information on the other level, where there are always some art exhibition. Going there to see is nive enough, worth going there, but if you want to rest, and eat, it is a very good choice, close (real close) too many ot the mais attractions in the historical center of Ouro Preto. Old parts of the original construction have been maintained, and the decoration is just perfect. The service was also excellent, but really so!

They have a very good diversity of food, very tasteful by the way, but they do not serve barbecue on Mondays (for those meat lovers).. The view is great, it's from a state park called Parque Itacolomi, love it! They also serve free coffee with rapadura, a very sweet local candy, pure sugar in my opinion =)
