Fabulous friendly staff

It far exceeded our expectations, three very large bedrooms and two very spacious bathrooms, a good size kitchen and dining area and spacious living room. Easily accommodated the 7 of us. Balcony with separate seating and table plus loungers. Great view and everyday we watched the deer roaming up the mountain. Breakfast was a good continental forever topped up and service excellent. Hotel receptionist staff were very friendly, explained the free pass that gave us discounts to many shops, etc., free bus and train journeys and even free access to the local pool. cleaning was thorough making sure we had fresh towels plenty of loo rolls etc., Special mention to Timea who organised a birthday cake for our granddaughters birthday and was very kind to me on last day when I was not feeling 100% . The hotel also produced a cake for one, our Lauren at breakfast on her birthday and played happy birthday. A very memorable stay thank you and would highly recommend.

Excellent place to stay
Reviewed By pederandreasenJust back from a week in St Johann, we stayed in the Apartment and must say a very enjoyable stay. The Apartments are basic but roomy and very comfortable. The owners are very helpful and will go out of their way to ensure you are informed of events and happenings in the town. We opted to have breakfast in the Hotel Tyrol most morning and that was a perfect start to a day on the slopes. We will be back next Christmas A big thank you to Ilse and Jonny for making our trip a fantastic experience

Reviewed By Ferg FMy family and I have been guests at the Pointenhof for many years now. The Hotel is a family run business and you feel that when you stay there. There is a genuine welcome given to all of their guests and they take great pride in not only showing the best of how friendly the Austrians are but make you feel like part of an extended family. I am an Architect and I really appreciate good Architecture and attention to detail. The Pointenhof Hotel is exemplary in reinventing the traditional Austrian Architectural style and charm in a modern interpretation while keeping the warmth and essence of the traditional Austrian Style. We rented a series of Rooms over the years and all of them are modern, clean, offer balconies over the alps a beautiful quality of light and yet you feel as if you were in a traditional Austrian room with exceptional views of the Alps. The food & drink are incredible and this is served with a smile from the friendly staff. We have never waited long for any meal and never had a bad meal in all the years we have visited. The location for the Hotel is second to none, being halfway down the mountain, this guarantees that you are always first on the slopes in the mornings. It also had an advantage that if one of your parties was tired or forgot something it was very convenient to call back to the Hotel. We ventured into the town a few times and the taxi fare were very reasonable so don’t think you will be stuck on a mountain. I simply cannot say enough good things about the Hotel and in particular the family that make my family feel like they are in their second home. I look forward to returning next year. Reviewed By NialMA great location, only a few minutes walk from the town centre and right next to the gondola for access to the Kitzbuehelerhorn. The Sonne is clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly and welcoming and the breakfast is just what you need to set you up for a day walking

Er was tijdens ons verblijf geen ontbijt mogelijk maar wel broodjes service. Voldoende parking en ski ruimte voor het materiaal. Prachtig zicht uit appartement. Prijs kwaliteit perfect ?

Old fashioned, over prized and bad service
Reviewed By TheBerliner1175We visited friends that stayed in this hotel for a week with their children and inlaws. The family room was newly renovated. The room we got was old, not well maintained, small. The bathroom wasn’t clean. The dinner was kept warm until 20:15. It was a hard fight to hinder the staff from closing the buffet (on a Saturday when everybody arrives). The dinner was nothing special but not bad. The waiter Marek was extremely friendly. The hotel staff at the bar was very rude. We as guest did not know the bar closes at 23h. Nobody warned us or offered a last round at least. Again it was a fight to be able to order a last beer. Which then again... was lukewarm ... Unfortunately it continued in the same manner. The breakfast room was anything but lovely. Old, shabby, but clean. The breakfast was ordinary. We then asked for a guest card as it is usual in Austria. With such a card you usually get some discount for rentals or the ski pass. Well, there was supposingly no such card... based on what the receptionist told us. Now guess what - the had 10% discount cards - the receptionist just didn’t know it. The cards were lying at the reception. Since this is a family hotel, they offer a kids corner - with very little games. Not great. All in all a completely old not well maintained and overpriced hotel that I can not recommend at all. It’s a cash out place- old furniture, old everything, very high price for what you get - 140€ half board... / night. I recommend to choose another hotel.

Schoon appartement uit jaren 70
Reviewed By SandergeytWe zijn hier met twee gezinnen geweest. Ieder gezin zijn eigen etage. Een vierpersoonappartement waarbij er een kamer was afgesloten (waarom? Onze vrienden hadden graag iets meer betaald voor meer ruimte) en een zespersoonappartement. De inrichting stamde nog uit de jaren 70, mooi roze sanitair en als je je kont draaide in de douche dan tikte je de kraan aan, auw ! Warm water. Zo klein was de douche. De gastheer en vrouw waren niet echt heel vriendelijk en warm. We hadden soms meer het gevoel tot last te zijn. We werden ook gewaarschuwd dat er geen vrienden een borreltje mochten komen drinken. Het zes persoonsappartement had wel een afwasmachine en het andere niet. Het toilet had een vergruizer en kon je s’nachts niet gebruiken, want dan is het hele huis wakker. Het was wel keurig schoon ! De lakens waren ook nog uit de vorige eeuw, niet echt geriefelijk. De Wifi ging s’ avonds om 11 uur uit en is zeer traag. Gelukkig hadden we onze eigen 4G bundel om een film af te kijken. Het appartement is 7 minuten lopen van de piste (wel omhoog) en dat was prima.Geen ontbijtservice of iets dergelijks, maar de spar is op 6 min lopen. Je hoort s’nachts wel grote weg razen. De auto’s stonden ook mooi droog onder een afdakje. Er was een wasmachine en droger te gebruiken voor 3,50 euro per apparaat per keer. We kregen wel halverwege nieuwe schone handdoeken. Het is echt wel een huis met potentie, maar de eigenaren vinden het nu wel een leuke cashcow en hebben geen zin meer om er echt iets leuks van te maken ook niet voor de gasten. Beetje vriendelijk ontvangst of afscheid is toch het minste. Graag dus ook contant betalen en op het beloofde wisselgeld wacht ik nog steeds.
