Arriving late in Calahorra and needing an alternative for dinner to the Parador, we wandered through the plaza and were more than happy with Jamanero. We got the impression that this might be a better winter destination eating from the attractive bar, yet on a hot September night and after two months in UK, sitting outside at 11pm was very nice indeed.

After walking 27 kilometers in dusty roads in 40 degrees heat and burning Sun, we reached Gala for late lunch and a vold jarra de cerveza - we lunched and Got super basic pasta, duck and ice including Wine and water for 13 euro. For dinner we had salad, braised lam and water melon - just great and for prices we have not experienced in decades. If in Rioja, its a friendly and nice place to visit, with very sympatic employees.My Best recommendationsJørgen

Sitio bastante agradable situado en una plaza peatonal.Parking relativamente fácil en las calles cercanas.Dispone de un menú suficientemente variado de platos para todos los gustos.Los platos están cocinados en su punto y con raciones buenas.Calidad precio muy bien.Recomendable

Mal servicio.La cocina no es buena. Han cambiado varias veces de cocinero en los 5 años que llevan abiertos.Los precios son excesivos para la calidad que tienen.El encargado se cree que es el Dios del Universo.No recomendable.

This restaurants is located on a pedestrian thoroughfare, along with a few cafes and bars. Sitting out was a treat, just watching the world go by. The food was excellent - would heartily recommend the fish skewer and the stuffed peppers. Staff were friendly and helped with any language difficulties.

The restaurant has a very nice interior traditional lodge type.The food is excellent based on local ingredients and traditional northern Spanish cuisine. The wine list was not compatible with the level of the restaurant.Other then that great place to eat if you are in the area.
