An affordable alternative to stay in Turku

This was my second stay at Linnasmäki. The rooms are simple but clean. I had a rental car and finding a parking space was a breeze, very probably due to Covid. This place is a hostel and a training facility with a sauna and conference center. They also offer breakfast and lunch at affordable prices. I didn't eat there, but from what I saw walking by, everything looked good. The reception has restricted opening hours during low-season . Checking in autonomously is easy, the instructions I received were easy to follow. The room price includes free WiFi and parking is also free of charge. The rooms are not luxurious, but clean and really okay for the price. I have all kinds of allergies (pollen, dust, fragrances), so I know that I'm safe here because even the soap in the bathroom is fragrance-free and the linens and towels are clean and have no scent besides the scent you smell when things are just clean. The location is quiet and so is the whole building. No disturbances, everything really calm. There is a bus-stop nearby. So, even if you don't arrive by car, this place still as a good option. Oh, by the way: the staff at the reception is helpful and very friendly and e-mails are answered in a timely manner.

Great value for a lovely nordic room!

Reviewed By EmeraldIsle1703

We booked through Booking and found it difficult to find, a local explained that the reason is we had the address in Swedish when the map had the street names in Finnish. From the Train station walk straight until you reach the parallel road and from there you have the bus number 12 that just stops in front of the hotel (the Heseburger will be more visible). There you need to go to the Heseburger staff to ask to be checked in. Once you have your key you can get in and out the hotel using your card without going to the Burger place and when you check out just leave your key (card) in the mailbox. The room was big, very practical and bathroom was great. We have enjoyed our stay (2 nights) in Hese Hotelli and would love to come back on our next visit! Kiitos!

Feeling of overpriced

Three persons, almost 200 €/night. We expected a nice hotel where's everything in order. Well, it wasn't like that. A person at the reception was friendly and told us that the sauna will cost 30 € more. No thanks. The room was recently renovated and was from Ikea catalog. It was light coloured and quite nice. Toilet was awful. Walls or floor were never washed properly. They had some kind of dark layer on them. No floor towel, and other towels were in bad shape. Mirrors had been cleaned with a dirty cloth as they were white. Not anything to dry the floor with. Walls were so thin we could hear everything our neighbors said. Thank God we had earplugs with us. The breakfast was average but we couldn't hear any good morning from the staff. The porridge was luke warm and got cold during eating. Home made bread was a nice surprise. After all, the place was nice but if you charge that much, you have to give something back. Now we got a place to spend a night, nothing more.
