Provino's Italian Restaurant

Provino's is what other Italian restaurants should strive to be. This place was delicious! The delicious wine, salad, rolls drowning in garlic butter, and wonderful entrees at Provino's are hard to beat. Not to mention the scrumptious cannoli we ordered to go! Our server from that night, (I think his name was Kahlil), deserves a raise. He made sure our dining needs were met, our glasses stayed full, and made us feel very welcome. This was a special occasion, as we were in town visiting family for Christmas. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area. Yum!

This shop has been in business in Snellville for 20 years, and the donuts have been outstanding for at least that long. These aren't fancy, new-fangled power rings, but they are made fresh, (you can see them frying in the back. Esther up front smiles and talks to everyone, and wishes you a blessed day when you leave.

I heard great things sbout this place so I had high expectations. I will not be going back again. I found this place to be the same as Steak and Shake only more expensive. The custard was good but for the price and taste I did not see any value.

Love Bruster's! All of their Ice Cream is made on site from scratch from ingredients that change with the seasons. It is a little pricey but you do get what you pay for! Our favorite is banana Thursdays. If you bring your own banana, you get a banana split for 1/2 price! Great deal!

They make some of the best Chinese Chicken in this area. Our favorites are Mongolian Chicken and Hot and Sour Soup. What bothers me sometimes is the service. Rarely a smile and thank you, which is not the way it used to be.

Love First Watch, but with all the restaurants vying for a space, weekends are crazy. There is parking around the back of the building. Ricotta Pancakes are amazing! I like so many of their dishes....service was lacking today, but someone else brought us our check.
Hint: Open for breakfast, lunch and brunch. Go during the week if possible. Can't go wrong with the breakfast items. Go healthy or not, it is good. Patio with umbrellas and dog friendly. Good for large groups during the week.

Summits Wayside Tavern

Summitts is a fantastic restaurant with a very large menu. We typically go there for wings, but everything on the menu is amazing. No matter what the dietary need, they can probably accommodate you. They have meals for vegetarians, gluten free options, those with allergens, and your run of the mill carnivores. I would rank their wings in the top 3 in the state, possibly the southeast. My husband and I are basically wing connoisseurs. We have tasted wings at over 100 restaurants, so we know a good hot wing when we taste one. These wings rival Taco Mac and Three Dollar Cafe. Summits has excellent ranch and blue cheese dressing, which is of utmost importance when eating wings. Nothing like having a wing ruined by some watered down dressing. Not at Summits. Their dressings are of great taste and texture. Their carrots and celery are huge and very fresh. The fries are not too limp and not too crispy- a perfect mixture of softness and crunch, and they are seasoned well. The rest of Summits' menu is just as good as their wings. There is so much I want to try. On Wednesday nights they have all you can eat crab legs. And these are big crab legs served in a bucket, not the tiny kind with no meat that you often find at all you can eat places. Their beer selection is extensive and you will want to join their rewards program. It is free to join and it will save you money in the long run. Trust me, you will be back. Summits is also a family friendly place. We take our kids with us most of the time, and there are usually other families there. The restaurant also has trivia which is always fun. Summits is a great place for large groups. I am hosting my husband's birthday dinner there in just a few weeks. I will say that you need to get there early for an up front parking space. If you arrive later, you will have to park behind the restaurant and then walk up a steep hill. Not the most fun, but their food is definitely worth it.

The soft dread comes with "holes” that are super for easy pull-apart and dipping.
The dipping oil and spices were very tasty though a bit salty.

Swordfish with pumpkin ravioli and Mahi Mahi Oscar both excellent and generous portions

The house specialty Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer shrimp are presented on a bed of cut lettuce. They are a bit spicy and highly recommended

Sushi Avenue

I'm saddened to be writing a poor review after I've had such wonderful experiences here. The sushi was still good, the wait staff still good. Unfortunately, today was a discriminatory experience. There were two of us and we were seated and placed our order - One of us ordered sushi lunch special and the other tempura and teriyaki. After that, two gentleman were seated and placed their order. The person I was with received their meal within 10 minutes because it was done in the kitchen. We sat at the sushi counter and watched the two large sushi orders for the two gentleman be prepared and served before my small sushi order. They came in and were seated AFTER we ordered; they had large sushi platters. Nothing special about my sushi order that required any length of time, I simply didn't rate as important, and I can only assume because they were Asian and I am not. My order could have been done in minutes (as it was when he finally got to it), and their wait would have been minimal and in the proper order, but instead he made me wait. We are talking a half hour. I had to leave so as not to be late for an appointment and asked the waitress to pay for the one meal we received but I had to leave. He then hurried and finished my order and it went into a To Go container. Eating sushi out of styrofoam and on the run simply isn't appetizing. I should have just refused it at that point. I doubt I'll go back. If I do, it will be when I have all day and don't mind being discriminated against.
