... but what does that mean in a small town like Skara, where except for some Lebanese or Thai style snackbars, there is not so much for eating out ? My expectations were rather high after Reading the Tripadvisor reviews, but in Belgium, we are probably a bit more spoiled with good and very affordable restaurants than in Sweden. For that reason, I was quite disappointed about the very limited choice of dishes and also about the food itself. It certainly wasn't bad, but quite salty and with small portions. And the prices of Swedish restaurants in the evening are and will continue to be a bit high for foreigners' standards. If you are in Skara, come to this restaurant and if your expectations are moderate, you won't be disappointed. But don't come to Skara just for this restaurant ...

My husband, daughter and I discovered this place ca. 6 months ago and have been regular customers ever since. This café is located next to the city center, by the beautiful Cathedral (Domkyrkan). It is a family-run business and the sisters who run it have a very personal touch when it comes to welcoming their customers (they learned our names after the very first time) and making absolutely delicious home-made food, especially desserts! Their cakes come in a great variety (i.e. there is something for everyone) and are baked fresh every day. This place has great atmosphere, too - from the cozy white and black sheep skins on the benches to the colorful and cheerful wall paper! They would have stood out (in a purely positive way) even in Gothenburg or Stockholm. This café is a true gem and should not be missed!

Thai buffet at 85,- sek including drink is ok. I did nor expect much servicw and got what I expected This buffet was indeed worth every "öre". Good parking outside the nice building. Will definately cone back for lunch.

It is really at the end of the road.
An old mill.
It is a plain place.
With plain food.
But if you can sit outside and eat and drink lots of things are
put in the right place.
This is just a nice place with nice service and perfect for a
good conversation on a summerday.
If you go there you will see what I mean.

Restaurant is located in the centre of the city. I had a pleasure to eat there during lunch so I have chosen lunch menu for quite reasonable price. I got good schnitzel. Really well done. Climate inside is interesting. You can also eat pizza there. I don't know if I will be in this area in the future but if yes I will try to go there one more time. I recommend!

Located in an ancient christian monastery site, the Varnhems Klostercafe is a lovely Place where it feels good to have a Sunday brunch, when it is Cold and grey outside.
The atmosphere is cozy and warm, the decoration may be a bit too old fashion but it matches With the venue's spirit.
The soups & the cakes are simply delicious ! The staff is kind and the service quite fast... Hi5 !

Visited with kids and friends an afternoon.
Nice and charming service from the single staff.
Very small menu that didn't excite kids but the staff suggested some off menu food for the kids.
The adults selected chicken plates and some extras.
The food was average and one of my chicken pieces were not tasty at all.
Quite small portion for the price paid.
The Humus was nice.
Left a little disappointed but mostly chocked that this restaurant was as expensive and that food was below average.
There was no pizza in the menu when we visited as one of the reviewers suggested.
