Sailing, diving, fishing and relaxing are the main activities for visitors to the 115 islands of this Indian Ocean archipelago. Mahé, Praslin and La Digue are the most popular islands. Mahé boasts 65 silver beaches, plus an array of restaurants, cafés, bars and casinos in the tiny capital, Victoria. The Seychelles are home to UNESCO-designated sites, coral atoll Aldabra and Vallée de Mai, called the Garden of Eden. Creole is the main language, but English and French are widely spoken.

Unforgettable experience

What could I possibly say that will encompass my experience at Anantara Maia from the rooms to the service to the staff amazing. My partner and I stayed 4 nights and everyone was so accommodating. I had to start a new paragraph to talk about Amita and Pasek, they were the stars of the vacation. Setting up our dining experiences and always being there when needed. They made us feel so comfortable and taken care of, they knew what we wanted before I even had to ask. So observant, that's 5 star experience. These two made my partner 40th birthday a dream come true. So warm and caring and going the extra mile for us. I will always remember those two and the time they gave us. When we come back we will definitely be asking for Amita and Pasek, the best of the best villa hosts. The staff member, Mike was so helpful with the canoe and providing us with what we need, so helpful and friendly. The spa experience as well as yoga was amazing. I was able to relax and get exercise. Finally, the GM Mathieu was amazing and so friendly, and went above and beyond. Exactly what you think a GM should be and he was that and so much more.

Something for everyone

Reviewed By lilianhoffman

This was my second visit to the amazing Silhouette Island. First time my children were with me, and this time was alone/partly with friends. Both times I have fallen in love with this amazing island. It has something for everyone. The resort was fully booked but it never felt the least crowded. I had my own private beach as I had a beach villa. My room attendant, Ajeet cleaned my room every morning and checked in on me every afternoon to make sure my stay was satisfying. He was so friendly, smiling and polite and had a good eye for details. The restaurants are all keeping good standard. Unfortunately the old Graan Kaz wasn’t open on my last visit but if you get a chance to go there it’s totally worth it to get a taste of Creole flavors. The buffétrestaurant Cafe Dauban also offers a Creole theme buffét on the beach with live music and dancing, fantastic! Don’t miss trying the coconut with Takamaka rum! Yammie! Also worth mentioning; the Tepaniaki is a spectacular show but the room service food was just a shy shadow of what the meals look like when you order them in the restaurants. The pool area is beautiful and a lot of primarily families with children hung out here all day. Additionally there is a tennis court, a padel court, a giant chess game, a spa, water sports and shops to enjoy when you need a break from the sunbed. I, however, have fallen in love with the gorgeous nature in the Seychelles and made hikes around the island to find enchanting forests, secluded beaches, giant rocks on the beach, turtle beaches, and historical remains from locals. To sum it all up; I was spoilt rotten on Silhouette Island Hilton Labriz and can’t wait ’til the next time I get to visit this little gem.

Alphonse Island Resort

Escape to the exquisite simplicity of a tropical island paradise; experience the raw beauty of an untouched natural sanctuary in the far reaches of the Indian Ocean, leaving behind the impositions of everyday life. The Alphonse group of atolls are considered as one of of the most pristine, untouched edens of the world, making it a nature lover's paradise. The magnificent island threesome comprising of Alphonse, St Francois and Bijoutier lies in the very heart of the Indian Ocean as part of the Seychelles outer island group. Seven degrees South of the Equator and 400 kilometers South-West of Mahe, it is blessed with one of the world's healthiest climates, and miles of unblemished shorelines, lagoons and sea flats. HOTEL: Alphonse Island features a single exclusive resort comprising beach bungalows and villas built alongside the waters edge, each with spectacular ocean views. The 'Le Lys' central dining and bar area allows guests to socialize alongside the sparkling pool and shoreline, with cuisine offering the very best of traditional Creole creations inspired by the sensuous island atmosphere. Fresh produce farmed on the island and freshly caught fish are always on the menu, but diversity is key, including Asian inspired dishes and sensational sashimi, complimented by a wine list of distinctive variety. Freedom of movement around the island on foot or bicycle permits self-discovery of the wonders of this special place. Alphonse Island is a refuge for people looking for an authentic but comfortable island experience. FLY FISHING: Considered a fly anglers paradise, the expansive sea flats surrounding the atolls of Alphonse and St Francois provide the fly fishing experience of a lifetime. This spectacular wilderness has ten thousand acres of white sand flats, which provide easy wading and world class site fishing. The atolls are home to incredibly large populations of Bonefish, 3 different types of Triggerfish, Barracuda, Snapper, Grouper, Permit, Parrotfish, 8 species of Trevally (including the Giant Trevally), and the incomparable Milkfish. This diversity gives anglers the opportunity to target a myriad of different species during their stay. The St Francois fishery caters for just 12 fly anglers at a time to maintain exclusivity and sustainability. To ensure guests the ultimate fishing experience, an international team of knowledgeable guides and qualified managers are on hand to share their passion for this unique fishery and its environment. Anglers are transferred for the short run from Alphonse to St Francois lagoon by the 40' mother ship to where the skiffs are kept anchored. The fishing is very much tide dependent so the prevailing conditions will dictate which species you will focus on. You are then able to access the vast expanse of flats, lagoons, channels and reefs which spoil anglers in the choice of environment and species for which they would like to hunt. The accommodation at Alphonse is amongst some of the most comfortable you will encounter at any fly fishing destination in the world. GAME FISHING: The un-spoilt waters of Alphonse and St Francois Atolls are home to the most incredible variety of blue water fish species, translating into a great destination for offshore fishing. The structure and sheer drop-offs are ideal for attracting a variety of pelagic species that can be caught on fly as well as conventional trawling methods. Fish like Sailfish, Wahoo, Dogtooth Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna and Dorado can be challenged on any given day. Anglers can choose to either spend a half or full day targeting some of the hard fighting fish on offer. Due to our conservation minded policies, no conventional angling is permitted next to or on the reef that surrounds our majestic paradise, which helps preserve its unique abundance.

People make places even in paradise

From the minute you step foot on this paradise island it’s made to feel like you discovered it and your the only family on it. The attention to detail and can do will do attitude of the whole team is superior to any service I have received in some of the finest resorts in the world. Our butlers Paul and Eliam are simply outstanding and made our stay impeccable in every detail. They are top level operators and felt like part of our family and we will miss them greatly. Everything is included here and we made the most of the recreation team who are amazing. Daniel meticulously ensured that two of the children who are 12 passed their open water diving course and Sammy (give that man a seybrew) led myself and my friend through our advanced diving whilst Jude took great care of the boat and the fishing trips not to mention them all making sure we kept topped up with Seybrew! The chefs led by Simon and Ricky serve up the most amazing meals tailored to your needs always served perfectly by Paul and Eliam whilst Julio Kenneth Mervyn Aury and Sandra always ensured we received quality cocktails and wine. Service with elegance and a beautiful smile! The west beach sunset bar is the most amazing place I have ever enjoyed a sundowner it’s worth coming here just for that experience alone! Our rooms were always immaculate without us ever seeing Lisa and Sophia who looked after them. The spa service is included and top quality treatments in a beautiful setting from Marlene Rima Racheal and Mohan who also kept everyone in top condition with morning yoga I don’t think the ladies will ever forget the downward dog :-) you will find some of the best beaches in the world here that pictures cannot do justice to and honeymoon beach is sublime especially when Paul and Eliam have set it up exclusively for you! Simply wow. We celebrated a birthday whilst here and Jean Paul organised the most amazing party for us which would take some beating. There are some great hikes to do here and Elliot is so steeped in knowledge guiding you and giving you the history of the island. The tortoises are gigantic and an amazing experience and Dominic also managed to invite us to observe turtles hatching on the beach which was amazing. In a nutshell this place is paradise it’s rustic it’s got the island feel it’s traditional but even if it wasn’t the amazing beautiful place that it is the team are that good that it would still be amazing! I have never been as relaxed anywhere else in the world. Thank you each and every one of you and in particular Paul and Eliam for creating the most amazing time for our families that have given us memories that will last a lifetime. Best wishes Derek laura Gary claire rocky Chloe and Jack we will certainly be back to see you all ❤️???? seybrew all again soon ?
