Quite often go here as the good is scruumy. All freshly made on the premises. Again another taste of delights with sweet potato tortilla with goats cheese run through it. Served with an equally delicious couscous and also chickpea salad. Wow the taste buds were very happy. My husband opted for scrambled egg with bacon and crunchy topped sour dough bread. Good to also get freshly squeezed orange juice and not out of a carton. It may not be the biggest of places but it certainly is always full and great staff. Thanks for another good meal

Visited with a friend and her baby last Saturday for a late lunch. It wasn't overly busy at the time we arrived aroubd 2pm so there was enough room to manoeuvre the pram around tables and chairs. We both had a very nice toastie and a latte, mine had caramel syrup which was very nice. The staff were friendly and we didn't gave too long to wait for our meal. Would definitely come back but msy Be next time bring my dog as I noticed there was a building next door that accommodates people who might want to take their dogs with them. I presume you can have lunch here, it's not just for tea, coffee and cake

We are a quirky, family run tearoom and bookshop in Dundee. Tasty fresh food and interesting books, something for everyone.
My friend and I luckily found Madigan's after a disaster with a failed booking elsewhere, resulting in me almost missing out on an afternoon tea birthday treat, however we went to Madigan's on the off-chance and couldn't be happier - what a great place! We went to Madigan's around 2pm after being badly let down by the tearoom we intended going to initially, to see if there was any chance of afternoon tea without having booked previously. The lovely young lady said not a problem and to return at 2.30pm which was when they started, so we killed half an hour and returned to a warm and comfortable booth, chose our preferred tea from a very extensive range and also our sandwich fillings.Well, the presentation and calibre of sandwiches, scones and cakes was excellent and we both loved the quirky individual teapots. Everything was very fresh, delicious and just the right quantity - and the lemon cake was the lightest we'd ever tried, very tasty too.All in all I can't recommend or praise Madigan's enough - the welcome, the surroundings, the service and quality is all excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

The cake selection is all homemade and it's extremely difficult to choose just one. Definitely will be back to sample something tasty from the lunch menu.

Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at Simpsonâs yesterday morning. The owner Claire was so friendly and gave us such a lovely personal service. The smoothies were so good- super healthy and fresh; and each of us really enjoyed our food. I had the beetroot hummus with avocado and crumbled goats cheese on sourdough; my husband scrambled eggs with halloumi; and the boys both had the âDundee Stackâ which was black pudding with haggis and bacon or sausage with a perfectly poached egg on top. Best coffee since we arrived in Scotland too. All round a top quality breakfast with fantastic service.

Loved this place, old fashioned but stylish 50's/60's retro look, great music from that period, serving very good fresh door-stop sandwiches, soups and ploughman's. Cakes and other sweet treats are many and fresh baked. Their afternoon tea for 2, served to a neighbouring table was fab! All very tempting. Good coffee and soft drinks. Really had fun there, friendly staff, specials board, child friendly.
