Only those who know the region well will know about this place. A must! The setting of this unusually constructed, rarely seen, Farmhouse is amongst the fields and grasslands of the very flat Northern German countryside, near the rough North Sea, just slightly elevated on a "wharf" to withstand some high water tides (in the olden days). The roof span is amazing and it is worth both to explore the unique construction as well as the colorful History of this "Haubarg. The cuisine is northern German Comfort Food, Roasts, red cabbage, Potatoes and gravy, all served beautifully, along with lighter fare, and then the fantastic cake and "Torten" buffet! The coffee drinks are delicious, and regardless the weather, you must go!

The food you get here is good traditional German food, nothing special or fancy or 'hip'. We ordered the backfish and fish platter, both were very nice.However, I would like to compliment the staff, who made our experience very pleasant. A special experience in Husum: dine on a large boat!Nice selection of fish / seafood, plus some standards meats and vegetarian selection. etc. Try the "Norditas", tapas-style little bites of regionally inspired seafood and veggie options.All foods we had were excellently prepared, tasty, served just right.Great atmosphere with genuine maritime decor, plus the very gentle rocking of the (moored!) boat when the tide is up. Impeccable service: friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. We had our diner at the outdoor part of restaurant Altes Amtsgericht. The outdoor Space is directly on the scenic market Square, under the big trees, which gives a wonderfull shade on a sunny evening. The food was excellent and the service was nice and smiling. Definite a place worth wisiting

The indoor is so elegant and charming, for those who like aristocratic places, from the times of the heavier Dutch influence in Friedrichstadt.The assortment of cakes is great, choosing is a hard task, and one can always enjoy it all outdoors.Of course prices tend to match the well-off Danish clientele but once only pampering oneself isn't that harmless to the wallet!

We sat down on a white linen table, linen serviettes and ordered two black forest gateaus with coffee.Five minutes later we were in cake heaven! Just wonderful! And real coffee!We will come back for a real Dinner the next time!

My wife and I spent last Saturday evening at this little cosy restaurant. The Tiger Prawns were perfect and my wife really enjoyde the fish (Rotbarsch ) . Friendly staff and not overpriced.

We were strolling round the lovely town square looking for coffee and came across this restaurant next to a canal, so a great location, especially on a sunny day. The menu board told us their speciality is Durch waffles and we noticed the portions are big, so we ordered one between us. It was piping hot and came with hot cherries. The dessert was delicious and the coffee was good too. The waitress was busy but friendly and smiled a lot. A delightful experience.
