Pilgrim’s Inn - Quiet and Restful!
Reviewed By 822abesMy family and I really enjoyed our stay at Pilgrim’s Inn. The room was spacious and clean and a very reasonable price and the staff is exceptional. The linens and towels were very clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The bonus for us was the location. Pilgrim’s Inn is located right on the Mekong River so you have a beautiful view. There is also a park next door for early morning walks or just to stretch your legs after a long drive. Then there is Pilgrim’s Kitchen…You don’t want to miss out on their delicious food and coffee. I highly recommend Pilgrim’s Inn!

Reviewed By John RThis is a really nice place to stay if you are visiting Savannakhet. It is very 'low-key', located in a quiet neighbourhood and very good value. We stay one night recently. The rooms (there are three) are air conditioned, spacious, very clean and very comfortable. All of them are en-suite. Niko is a very good host. Highly recommended.

Reviewed By Teepa WThe room was ok, clean and tidy and spacious, the staff were friendly, laundry was cheap, the free breakfast was a bit light but ok, so reasonable value for money. The hotel next door had a good restaurant for dinner options.

Exceeded the expectations that my friends and I thought of. - If you want to stay at your second home at Khaysone Phomvihane, go to Sala Thongyon and enjoy it, you will become a distinguished guest. This is not a guest house, it is a great garden bungalow, a small cozy room to a bed covered with a dust-proof cloth, a very clean bathroom and good water pressure. Mrs. Nat (who has hosted us from outside) speaks English very well. - Our group spent all 3 meals here (lunch, dinner and breakfast the next day) because of the wonderful cooking skills of Ms. Nat and her family members. They are very enthusiastic and always consider you as a family member, nothing better than that. - Moreover, small actions such as burning incense sticks in the room, lighting a candle on the dining table or always taking care and smiling with us. That makes all, peak service of the tourism industry. - It's a pity that we only stayed 1 night and had to leave the next morning, the moment of breaking up was very emotional, almost tearful. Hopefully, I will have times to visit Sala Thongyon again. - SINCERELY THANK YOU, Mother. Nat ! You & your team make us feel like home when we stay with Sala Thongyon ! And I cherish the conversations with "Mr. SECRET" (the man from Chiang Mai, Thailand).

Reviewed By Mystere7Only 10 minutes from the thai-laos bridge. The hotel is huge.The room is new and modern.The food has a reasonable price ,tasty and variety of choices.Spent 2 hours at the spa and it was fantastic.The staffs took good care of us.Definitely come back next time.

Aura residence is new modern accommodation which offers international standard. Our residence is 500 m from bus station and market, and only 2 km from Thai embassy. We welcome most of international guests and local. Aura cafe is conveniently on the first floor of the residence. We are Foreigner-friendly!
Not the best choice
Reviewed By Patrick VOur tour organised changed last minute and we had to go to this place. It is 15 minutes walk outside downtown. Take care for the stray dogs, they are aggressive and very loud, also during the night. The breakfast is a big laugh. Terrible service, started 30 minutes later then they announced.

Huge but empty

Originally booked into the Savan Vegas Hotel but only advised by the tour guide when we arrived that the hotel had been changed because the Savan was noisy ? Situated on the Mekong the hotel looks like it is designed to hold conferences not so much everyday tourists. The staff dont seem to have a good grasp of English and were too busy on their phones to talk to you. Not much in the way of local restaurants so we ate in the hotel restaurant... which we had all to ourselves. Breakfast was ok again in the hotel restaurant. Pool was massive but cold, rooms were big and bed was comfortable. Couldn't stay more than 1 night as the hotel lacked atmosphere without more than 4 people in it

Includes breakfast. Also, check out Chez Boune for pizza, and the Savannakhet night market for snacks.
