We just finished another amazing meal at Kayu Manis. After visiting six months ago we decided to return and celebrate my birthday and we were not disappointed. Lobster salad was amazing and the pork and turf and surf dishes were all terrific. Not a single thing to fault and the staff are Terrific and even helped me celebrate my special day. Will be back again and again.

We were picked up by their courtesy car which was a great start to our last evening together in Bali. I’m afraid it went down from there. We waited some time before we got menus for drinks or food as there was a large party in. Our food was disappointing anything with pork in was small and fatty and very bony although tasty. My duck was not crispy and also very bony but tasted delicious. The lobster was good as were the Prawn dishes but not the sensation we expected. Good selection of world wines and reasonably priced. The chef came out to see us which was a good touch and they did take some money off our bill because of the large table who were a bit noisy and the delayed service even though we did not ask for it. The staff are friendly and charming and if we were staying longer I would try again as I do think this was an off night. I’m sure they are much better.

We tried the Indonesian signature menu for 2 people and it was delicious (and enough to feed the kids too). Also tried some of their house cocktails with lemongrass, ginger and lychee which was sensational! Great service, lovely setting. Highly recommend!Thank you so much for dining with us & we hope to see you again sometime soon.

This restaurant is worth a detour. For the food of course but also the people.
So starting with the food, I ordered a Nasi Goreng (typical fried rice dish) which was prepared fresh within minutes. It was deliciously flavourful.
And because it’s holiday time, I ordered dessert too and chose banana fritters (once again cooked from fresh). The lovely surprise is that they weren’t greasy at all.
Putu, the owner, was amazingly entertaining, teaching me a few words of Balinese over a fresh cup of ginger tea along with his brother from another mother (sorry dear, I didn’t catch your name).
The Chef, Mudana, is Putu’s real brother. He has learnt his culinary skills in top Asian hotels. This was quite visible in the way the dishes were presented. He gave me a tour of his kitchen where he was getting ready for some Balinese cooking lessons the following morning.
A simple and heartwarming experience which ended up with Putu dropping me back to my hotel on his motorbike.
Thank you for your kindness.

Went here for breakfast this morning. Indoor Seating which is nice when it is this hot out.
I consider myself somewhat of an Eggs Benedict Connoisseur. I order it 99% of the time it is an option on the menu. I have been thinking long and hard since leaving the restaurant if I could think of a better eggs Benedict that I had had. I wanted to give it enough thought since I do not take what I am about to say lightly but "Dusk Blue has the best eggs Benedict I have ever had". The key to a good Benedict in my opinion all lies with an excellent hollandaise, and the shallot and tarragon hollandaise was tremendous.
My wife had scrambled eggs with a herbed Fetta and a spinach salad and she ate the entire thing, which is rare, as she is not a breakfast food fan. She also had a green juice. Our bill came to 177,870 idr with tax and service fee.
We have one more day in Sanur and I am already looking forward to tomorrows breakfast.

We were based in Sanur for 4 weeks and tried many restaurants, but this was the only one we went back to, many times. Inventive and varied menu which caters well for vegans as well as those, like me, with a gluten allergy. All ingredients obviously very fresh (which is more than can be said for many others in the area) and me and wife couldn’t fault it. Friendly staff, fascinating owner, cosy, and tastefully shabby decor. Take a selection of their cakes home with you, they are all ‘to die for’!

I and my partner visited this place after Reading all reviews on Tripadvisor. I have to tell you that we were not disappointed - it has the most wonderful food and really lovely service (at times we were even asked by 3 different waitresses whether we like our food or we want anything to change). I would suggest trying Indonesian food, I think it was one of the best ones we had in Bali. The cocktails are also very lovely :).
We visited a few times this place and I wish we had done it more!

If you’re familiar with Seminyak, you would understand what I mean when I say LBV is a high Class, high service Seminyak restaurant based in lovely Sanur. Their prices are more than reasonable in relation to their service, quality and flavour of the restaurant.
My Mom and I each had escargot for starters. It’s quite unique in the way they prepare these; a crumb on top seated on a mushroom, if you enjoy snails, I recommend trying this dish. My Dad had the mushrooms with dill pickles. They were decadent.
The highlight of all was definitely the fish fillet. It was amazing!! This is not an over exaggeration or under statement. It was moist and cooked with the most amazing flavours, including flakes almonds a top. I’ll be heading back for lunch there today, just for the fish! I usually avoid fish unless I cook it myself.
Mom had the pork belly for a main which was delightful, albeit the portion was very large and therefore the pork belly, being rich, can be somewhat overwhelming. I had the muscles which, to their credit, were perfect! No beard or grit and the portion size was substantial!
The ambience of the restaurant is great, and the service is par to none. They’re doing a great job, and of all the restaurants I’ve visited across Bali and Sanur, these guys should be the best in Sanur and definitely in at least the top 10 in Bali! Well done! Keep up the great work! See you again soon.
