Posada

No caminho para o Vale Nevado paramos para almoço nesta pousada que tem um restaurante rústico e com preços bons. Carne boa porém o Salmão deixou a desejar . Porçoes pequenas. Mais a frente tem local para ótimas fotos. Vinhos razoaveis com carta pobre. Preços altos para o que oferece.

Dona Tina

We were lucky to meet Dona Tina who was gracious and warm. She welcomed us though we were visitors of a friend. The food was Chilean and delicious. There was a clean taste to the fish dishes served - not muddied with cheese or spices. Wonderful naturally great food cooked to perfection. We sat outside on a wonderful afternoon - fabulous!

El Rancho

Mi Rancho (My Ranch) is a nice quint home style family restaurant situated in the mountain community of Lo Barnechea, on the banks of a tributary of the Mapucho River. It is a very pleasant location to have lunch and enjoy the calm and charm of a typical, working class restaurant. Mi Rancho serves a limited, unpretentious, menu of typical Chilean food. It is good location for a romantic lunch, a special event, a movie shoot, or just a casual meal. A note of caution: Chilean cuisine over-does it with the salt....so be sure to advise the waiter POR FAVOR, BAJO DE SAL...(low salt please). For starters try the cheese empenada, an oven baked goodie that is a staple of people from every economic class Chile. Note that the meat empenada is rather salty. For main course, be sure to order the "Pastel de Choklo" (a sweet corn based, deep dish casserole). The "Casuela" are large casserole style meals with baked chicken, vegetables and rice. The stakes are not big, and perfect for a sensible lunch (The filet is excellent). The "Poroto Granados" (mixed beans) is the perfect meal for a vegetarian. For a perfect side dish, I suggest mixing 1/2 an order of beans with a side of tasty white rice. While having a meal in Chile' a bottle of wine is a must! The staff and owner are nice, easy going people. The staff is reasonably attentive, but if you expect "snap-to" service....Chile' is the wrong destination for you. Reservations are suggested on weekends, especially if you want a river front table after 1pm, Approx 30 minutes from the American Embassy in Providencia.10 minutes from the Radisson Petra in LaDehesa5 minutes from the Lider / Wallmart on Avenida Las Condes/Avenida La Dehesa.Directions from Providencia / Put the address in your cellphone GPSTake Costanera Expressway North to the LaDehesa Sur Exit. Merge to La-Dehesa Ave., Turn left at second traffic light (Las Condes Avenue)Go straight up-mountain. Slight left at the gas station fork in the roadTurn right at Pastor Fernandez (Traffic light)2nd left turn to La Desputada (part of the sign has been erased and the remaining letters are "La Puta"). Travel approx 300 meters, it is on the left side. You will see the Parkero (parking watchman). Pay him 300-400 peso on the way out. This charming place is approx 25 minutes from the American Embassy in Providencia
