Cafe La Puerta is a lovely place to enjoy a nice lunch in San Pedro! The entire restaurant is situated outdoors and the tables are scattered among a beautiful and tranquil garden setting with lots of lush green vegetation everywhere. Their menu offers a great selection of fresh and healthy meals including international dishes as well as local Mayan specialties. The atmosphere was very peaceful and relaxing and it was such a beautiful place to enjoy a fantastic lunch!
I ordered the vegetarian tacos and a strawberry banana smoothie and everything tasted absolutely delicious. The tacos were unique and were topped with a variety of cooked vegetables and they were beautifully presented as well. The staff were pleasant, friendly and cheerful and I had a wonderful experience eating here. Highly recommended and I will definitely come back to eat here next time I am in San Pedro!

I just wandered down the little street in San Marcos looking for something decent to eat. I was pleasantly surprised by the clean atmosphere at Fe's. The owner greeted me personally and was very friendly to all the patrons. My meal was really a surprise though....I ordered a chicken Sandwich with avocado, whiskey onions and stuffing. It seemed a bit of an odd combination but was in fact really fresh and tasty. I would go there again to see what other odd concoctions they have. Highly recommend this place.

A nice break from the hustle of Santiago and shopping, Quila's has a nice small but nice garden and a fairly quiet atmosphere during the noon and afternoon, with activities as the sun goes down over the mountain. Reasonably priced, staff speaks pretty good English, Frequented by the ex pat community, so you may have some interesting companions. The food and drinks are both in good portion and in good supply with nice variety. We make it a point to visit Quila's when every we are in Santiago.

In a country like Guatemala, it is important that I eat in places which are run by local people.
Clover is one of them. There is an excellent menu with varying food, also very suitable for vegans and vegetarians. Also local people eat in Clover. And the prices are okay. Clover is also a romantic place with pleasant garden.
Support the locals and eat in excelent restaurants like the Clover.

Stopped by for the Saturday brunch today. The price was good, but the service was terribly slow. Waited for about 1 hour and 10 minutes for simple eggs for me and an omelet for my wife. Had to remind the waitress about our missing toast. During the time we were there waiting, the waitress never asked us how things were, if we wanted anything else or that the food was on its way. The place wasn't super busy. The food was good. The place across the road has better food , is super quick and has very friendly owners. I will not go back to El Barrio.

Informal dining with a menu that features local options, such as smoked chicken pibil with blue corn tortillas and home made sauces, and foreign choices, such as Thai coconut shrimp and a blackened blue cheese burger. We make the chili sauces, jams, ice cream; smoke the meats; roast the coffee; Best to make Reservations during high season.
We went there for a late lunch and maybe that's why the restaurant was nearly empty and exuded some kind of austerity... Nevertheless, it's a very impressive stone building full of character. We shared a broccoli and cheese soup followed by a plate of mixed...MoreOne visitor complains the restaurant is too full. The next that its too empty.

We were visiting Lake Atitlan for our 20th anniversary and our hotel was able to secure us a reservation for lunch. (You must have a reservation or they will not seat you)
The chef made a point to come out and speak to us and explain the origins of the meats and cheeses and also shared his background on why he started the restaurant. It is only open on weekdays for lunch so he and the staff can spend time with their families in the evening and weekends.
The atmosphere looking out over the mountain was as amazing as the food - truly a unique and wonderful experience.

After having tested most of the restaurants in San Marco (at least those open over the new year’s eve period) I can confidently say that this restaurant is the best in town. Ran by a handful of locals + a very nice Englishman from Liverpool, this vegetarian restaurant marks a refreshing change in the local offering of starchy pizzas, fake curries and other sandwiches. The garden is the sweetest place, even on a cool evening (brasero) and the menu simply spot on. I had the chunky veggie soup with home made bread, and the rest of the family home made pasta and risotto. Juices are yummy. Place is authentic and feels just right.
