Whenever we want to have a REAL burger, we head to Godfather's. We especially like it that once they open for the day, they don't close between lunch and dinner. Their burgers are cooked just as you asked for it. We enjoy the Director's Cut...MoreReading this left a smile on my face, so thank you, truly, for the kind words -- it's awesome knowing the burgers have always hit the spot! Can't wait to welcome you back in again soon. Cheers, Mike

This urbane and upscale pizza and Italian small-plates place is something the Peninsula has been waiting for. I'm usually a traditionalist when it comes to pizza toppings, but even their more unusual versions--sausage with honey!--work like a charm and are absolutely delicious. Small plates are very good, too, although I thought the bare-bones meatballs would have benefited from a little tomato sauce. The owners are very hands on and extremely welcoming, and the lively vibe would be right at home in SF or even Wine Country. A great addition to the Peninsula dining scene!

Was served by Liam and was very pleased. The Burrata Plate was interesting and the pork meatballs were delicious. Very tasty! The little gem salad was well made and we enjoyed the pizza. Definitely first class. Will certainly return.

Iron Gate Restaurant

I would give this restaurant a "0" if I could. The manager/Owner is very arrogant and cares little for his Customers, only his pocket book. We placed a gift certificate on line the Sunday before Christmas, 8 days before Christmas and even called after it was placed and verified when it would be sent out. On Thursday we received a call from the Iron gate asking for some mailing information which we already confirmed that last Sunday. Comes Christmas Eve, no certificate and left us in a terrible circumstance as we were giving it away the next morning. My husband drove with my daughter 40 miles one way there on Christmas Eve interrupting our Christmas Eve dinner to get one issued. The manager never said sorry even after he was told of our hardship driving the distance interrupting our dinner. He was upset my husband asked for a small token for our gas. I called the establishment when I heard from my husband and 12 year old daughter how they were treated hoping the manager wasn't the owner....but unfortunately he is. After a verbal confrontation on the phone and the manager saying that my husband dint even know the name of the person who called us on Thursday so it was "impossible our story", I played the recording for him. He verified it was them but continued fighting with me. Only after I said I was going to post a yelp review did he scream to me on the phone that he was sorry (but he didn't mean it). I am so disgusted with how un-classy this establishment is.

This is a nice restaurant for a dinner with friends or a cocktail at night. Nice patio, errs towards steakhouse type menu. Not great for vegetarians. Cocktails are really well made. It is always super busy, reserves days in advance. If it were not so busy, I’m not sure it would garner as much attention as it does, l think once it gathers a following, it snowballs on itself. Still, overall it’s a nice dinner place with deep banquets for a long dinner, or to hang out at the bar scene.

Angelica's has an indoor restaurant that transforms into a live music venue; it has outdoor dining on a charming wrap around patio with heat lamps; and it has a very nice bar. I love a late weekend lunch on the patio with friends and Angelica's "bottomless mimosas." I also love seeing music in a setting that feels like a nightclub. The food is usually very good. I would recommend the portobello sandwich or the sliders. From my experience, the main course salads are not big enough to fill you up if you are hungry. Though the food is not 5 star, it is very good. Last time I was there, the soup of the day was a lettuce soup, and it was exceptional. Highly recommend!

Found this place as it was highlighted on an episode of ‘Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.’ The pastrami sandwich was wonderful. Tender and flavorful. The rye bread was thick and perfectly toasted.

Great vibe, diners inside and out front on the ‘patio’.

They have a second location in Menlo Park that we look forward to trying soon.
