Perched on the shore of the Baltic Sea, Roenne was first settled over a thousand years ago. Today, the Danish city is known for its low historic houses and beautifully crafted grandfather clocks. The charming squares and yellow buildings of the Old Quarter set a cheery scene for exploration. The graceful 19th-century lighthouse provides plenty of photo ops, and the whitewashed St. Nicolas Church is jam-packed with ancient artifacts that date back to the 14th century.

For the price it was good and plentiful food. Not gourmet, but at a price of only approx. twice that of MacDonalds this is clearly preferable. Danish inspired cuisine. They have kids menu, although it is not on the menu outside. The waiter seems a little like he does not really bother, and we were there just after opening. But he was friendly enough.

On the island of Bornholm, in the city of Rønne, is the Green Solution Restaurant. We went there for a special night out.The food is organic and mostly local, and the meal was excellent and creatively presented. We were very impressed. The service was also very good. Three things could have been better, and the first was out of their control. They had been unable to get lamb this particular night, and that had been my first choice on the menu., so I was a little disappointed. The descriptions on the menu, both in Danish and in English were not very appealing, and even hard to understand what they were talking about. When I ordered, I had almost no idea what I was getting. So the menu needs some help. And the last thing was that they had no brewed decaf coffee, which is a must after an evening meal. But don't get me wrong, the meal was excellent.

A specialty is the tartellete - a generous "dish" made out of puff pastry and filled with the creamiest chicken and asparagus. The pork roast with cracklin' was moist and crunchy. Incredibly friendly staff. The restaurant is situated adjacent to the famous "Echo" valley.

Ribs were juicy and freshly made. We enjoyed it very much with potato wedges. The ribs were delicious and this is among the few restaurants that has ribs which are properly grilled (not like some where it's precooked and microwave). Well marinated and we'll cooked. I would come back for more if we stayed longer. Friendly and good service

Apart from an "all you can eat" buffet the menu appears to be largely euro-asian with lots of Thai and Japanese influences. The food was inexpensive, well cooked and presented. Service friendly and efficient. For three the bill was KR888,00 including a bottle of very acceptable wine.

We chose the 4 course lunch and wine menu, and were blessed with good weather sitting outside in the forest environment, magic. The meal was well spaced out and the portions were the right size, our favourites were Gran-herring– Sellery – Mustard, Porkfillet – corn – Chili – carrot, Turbot – Lobster-bisque. The service was excellent, but needs a bit more 'refinement' to reach a michelin star level, that the food deserves. All in all a highly recommended restaurant with some of the best value around. With the rising popularity it would be a good idea to have a menu in English.
