On a drive through Riverton in early October, my husband and I stopped at the Beachhouse Restaurant for lunch - and what a lunch it was. This is a charming little restaurant with a beautiful view of the sea across the road, and the service was lovely - very friendly and attentive. My husband had Fish and Chips and Salad, and I had Parmesan Crusted Orange Roughy with Hollandaise, chips and a lovely salad. This was arguably the best fish we had in 7 weeks of travelling throughout Australia, New Zealand and Rarotonga! Very generous servings, fish cooked to absolute perfection. We had intended to have just a light snack while there, but so, so glad that we opted for the meals we did. Would definitely recommend a stop at the Beachhouse Restaurant!

This is a new amazing cafe in Riverton NZ and is going to make it's mark on the area, which is on the Southern Scenic Route from Dunedin to Te Anau and Queenstown. Our Cafe is open 7 days a week including public holidays. Free Wifi /Internet with purchase

We stopped here for lunch and had a pumpkin delight soup of the day, and a hummingbird Muffin. Both were great and the coffee was lovely. The WiFi was handy too

Wonderful food, all home-made and great price. The pies are wicked, and sadly fabulous, so one must eat it all, no excuses accepted. View the passing traffic and catch up with the local news. A must on your right when you are entering Riverton coming south, and the laston your right when traveling north Wendy will greet you and be most helpful. Gay

I was in Southland over Christmas and hadn't been to Riverton for some 30 years! We went for a Sunday drive and were amazed how much it had grown. the drive around the Rocks was great! We finished off the drive with a meal at this Pub. Only one thing to order when in Southland BLUE COD. I was not disappointed with my selection (the same for the other 5 who ordered it!) A beautiful setting overlooking the water. Good traditional classy pub setting. I'll be back but not wait for another 30 years!! In Riverton? GO HERE TO EAT :)
