Andernach (German pronunciation: [ˈandɐˌnax]) is a town in the district of Mayen-Koblenz, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, of currently about 30,000 inhabitants. It is situated towards the end of the Neuwied basin on the left bank of the Rhine between the former tiny fishing village of Fornich in the north and the mouth of the small river Nette in the southeast, just 13 miles (21 km) north of Koblenz, with its five external town districts: Kell, Miesenheim, Eich, Namedy, and Bad Tönisstein. A few hundred metres downstream of Andernach the Rhine valley narrows from both sides forming the northern part of the romantic Middle Rhine stretch. Already in Roman times the place the narrow passage begins was named "Porta Antunnacensis" or Andernachian Gate. It is formed by two hills, the Krahnenberg (engl. Crane hill) and the Engwetter (Narrow weather) on the right bank near the wine village Leutesdorf (external town district of Bad Hönningen). The crane hill is named after the old crane beneath his foot (see below); in earlier times (until 1650) the hill was named "Geiersberg" ("Vulture's hill").

Freundlicher Empfang, schöne Weihnachtsdeko und angenehmes Flair. Die Neuwieder Senfsuppe war "sehr heiÃ" (leider sehr selten in anderen Restaurants) und geschmacklich hervorragend. Das Jägerschnitzel mit unterschiedlichen Pilzen und brauner SoÃe, mit krossen Pommes und Salat - für meinen Geschmack nicht besser zu machen, ebenso das Lauch/Apfelgratin mit überbackenem Gorgonzola. Aufmerksamer Gastwirt, ohne aufdringlich zu wirken, gepflegte Getränke. Alles in Allem ein gelungener Abend, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Ate here twice during my family visit to Neuwied. Food is fabulous, the service was fast and very friendly. I really liked the overall layout, decoration, and ambiance. There is a nice homey, neighborhood vibe. Both dinners I had were great, hearty portions. The service is top shelf. I was with family, one member has vision issues and the lighting was perfect for her to see but did not ruin the nice ambiance. I'll come back when I visit my family next!

Haben 2 x dort gegessen und 3x Essen mitgenommen.Leute freundlich, Essen und Preis-Leistungsverhältnis gut. Leider ist das Ambiente nicht so toll. Ãrgerlich war gestern, das die Familie und Freunde sich nach einem langen Tag auf das bestellte Essen gefreut haben.Zu dumm, dass plötm zlich auffiel, wir haben nichts zum einpacken und das Porzelan mit Alufolie hätte nicht warm gehalten, auÃerdem wäre nochmal eine Fahr nötig gewesen um die Teller zurückzubringen.Bin dann etwas angefressen die 15 km nach Hause gefahren. Benzin für 30 km verbraucht, für nichts.
