Note to travelers, Keflavik airport has minimal food choice after 430 pm, consider dinner before airport (drop off car and get to airport at least hr before flight if eating there). Had last pizza left there, it was terrible. Flew back hungry.Dear Pras499 First of all, thank you very much for sharing your impressions about our restaurant with us. We truly apologize for the bad experience you had. The quality and taste of our products is a priority for us. You feedback has been transmitted to the chef, and he will make sure such a situation does not happen again.I hope to welcome you again soon for a better experience.Sincerely, Inga JonsdottirKEF - Nord Restaurant

This place was a great little takeout cafe area with seating past the cash registers. I was able to sit by the windows and enjoy the views of Iceland and planes taking off and landing. I enjoyed a refreshing Icelandic beer and the cashier was very helpful with a bottle opener. It was very helpful that they accepted Euros and American dollars. There were also tons of snacks and pre-made sandwiches.

A local at the Viking ship museum put us on to this restaurant. It's a small local place that doesn't generally cater to tourists. The food was served cafeteria style and you could see what you were picking to eat. There were a variety of entrees, sides, and desserts as well as soup, salad, and drinks. We had a pleasant filling meal at significantly less than the tourist restaurants are charging. I believe this place is only open for lunch. Several of the workers did not speak English but it was no problem to point to what we wanted.

Library Bistro/bar Keflavik is one of the coolest bistros in Iceland. Trendy décor by the Italian company Dialma Brown puts the restaurant squarely on the map as hip, go-to eating establishment. We offer extensive menu with reasonable prices. Library Bist

Visited Library Bistro/Bar twice during a few days in Keflavík in April 2019.First trip was with a group of five on a slow Thursday night. That ended up in an argument with the cashier about the bill which was overpricing us and at the same time he was not able to give us a breakdown of the bill for the group. Very strange to say the least. Willing to give the place a second chance, we arranged a second trip on a packed Saturday night - service was super slow and in fact the slowest I´ve ever experienced in any restaurant around the world. Overall the food was ok but given the super slow service and the strange attitude from the cashier/bartender on Thursday night I can not recommend this place. Which is sad because the place looks nice.

Icelanders may be found here, but we heard nothing but English. The menu is comprehensive, but starts off with a page tuned to "exotic" visitor tastes at premium prices. You want fermented shark? Whale meat? Sure. They've got that. We weren't especially famished, so we chose an appy of tandori chicken (go figure?). Nice flavours, but with a sad side salad and about 2 tablespoons of raita, which was surprisingly spicy, both for raita and for Iceland. The Monkfish...turned this review around (it was headed downward). A generous portion, supplemented with a lobster tail (tiny by North American standards, but...different species, ok?) potatoes and veg, and a nice remoulade. Nicely cooked and presented. In a big eater, but between this and the appy, we're both sated. Might have to try a different place for our last night in Iceland, but, despite my initial impressions, I can recommend this place.

Rain doesn't play the music loud, and they have a nice dining room overlooking the water. One keeps thinking a whale might swim by at any moment.Although the service can be a little spotty when they get busy, the servers are very pleasant and helpful. I had an appetizer involving local feta cheese which was tasty, and then perhaps the best lamb and potato dish I've had in a long time. Done in a traditional Icelandic style, apparently. It makes me wish I had also ordered the fish stew, because the kitchen knows how to knock a simple dish right out of the park.HIghly recommended. I would have gone back but I was only in Iceland for the one night.

Fernando's Restaurant

At the end of our trip we were staying in Keflavík & for our last meal of the holiday we wanted to eat something other than traditional Icelandic food for a change. Italian food is usually a safe bet so we picked Fernandos. The restaurant is casual and relaxed & there is plenty of choice on the menu. I chose the tagliatelle with salmon, pesto & cherry tomatoes-an absolutely delicious bowl of tasty pasta. My hubby had the spaghetti with seafood which was also good.He picked the lava cake dessert which is really a chocolate fondant. On this occasion it was a shame that it was a bit overcooked with no liquid centre. The prices were very reasonable & we enjoyed our meal.
