Bad experience!

Reviewed By Paul H

Our review for Comwell Rebild Bakker Hotel. We stayed here from 10-15 April 2022. Overall we did not like our stay. A summary of what we experienced with full details below: Good things: - check-in lady was friendly and helpful. - free and plenty parking. - close to Rebild National park. Things that need attention: - Sleeping pillows are horrible, small and flat. - They forgot many times to refresh our towels when we requested fresh ones as per procedure. (leave dirty ones on floor) - The shower has a curtain which makes the cubical very small when the curtain draws towards you when wet. Outdated. And makes the shower room completely wet after a shower. - Our 5 months baby had a little cut on her arm, and left a small blood stain accidentally on the bedsheet. Cleaning never refreshed the linnen even though they must have seen the spot. They only fold the linnen. Never refresh them. - They don't clean used mugs from the room, like a used tea mug with some leftover tea in it. - Cleaning don't clean the common areas like the hallways very well either! We left a mug and glass on a side table in a hallway one day, 3 days later it was still there. - The hotel allows dogs. They piss everywhere on the walls in the hallways, and it seems the carpets never get a good clean. It stinks and is very unhygienic! - children screaming and running, stamping on the floors in the hallways make the rooms noisy. Not nice when having to put down a 5 months year old baby at 7pm. - The swimming pool water is very cold. - The bar was mostly unattended when we first arrived. - Breakfast buffet is ok. But the warm items like scrambled eggs and bacon rashers are not warm and many times burned resp. Also not any variety of the buffet. Every morning it is the same stuff. - First night we had to have dinner there. There is only 1 day menu, not any a la carte. (which makes you think, what if I'm vegan? Then I can't eat anything there.) We had for starters 1x variety of tomatoes. These were 4 little candy tomatoes they also serve with the breakfast buffet. It looked simple and cheap. Mains was a pork medallion which was OK but again cold. (plates are served cold,no wonder the food is cold). Worst of this dinner was the waiter with the weird haircut (shaved sides, kwif on top) has no hospitality sense whatsoever. He served the starter for my partner and my main at once. And when he described the menu in poor English, the dessert we also ordered only once was cancelled as they had run out. Instead we could have had a pannecotte but seeing the first to bad dishes we decided to not have any dessert as we thought that might be a weeks old left over pannecotte. We left and never ate any evenings again there. The wine he recommended tasted like piss. Maybe it's a bad brand, or maybe it was left open for too long. His ability to take out empty plates, asking if everything is alright, perhaps a new drink, and timings, was very poor too. And all that for a relative expensive items. - Worst of all, this same waiter, when we just chilled on a sofa in the hallway one night having a chocolate we got given by a family member living closeby, he ordered us not to eat it as it is against hotel policy. We had not seen him in over 4 years due to the pandemic. At least let us enjoy his chocolates, man! Learn to waiting tables first, mate! Simply rude! - Our last day of breakfast someone finally checked our roomnumber if we had it included in our booking. So what about all the other days? They simple didn't care? And then he couldn't even find our roomnumber. It was ok, we could do our breakfast, but it's all just too awkward, the things happening there. Overall not a good stay experience. We will not come back and tell all our family and friends the same.

Arrived this beautiful place located in the northeastern part of Denmark. Met by the owner as we parked the car outside the reception, lovely lady who was thrilled to have visitor with the youngest guest ever (our 2 month old baby) Service was the best we ever experienced in our travels, breakfast served at own desired time, fresh local juice served everyday. Even after a long day at the beach (12min drive) the owner greets us with a fresh class of juice or wine at the terrace. Room was clean, and nice. View out to the backyard and towards the castle! There was a nice big castle as their closest neighbor and as a guest you are free to walk through the beautiful garden and around the castle, which also has a moat. With the stay there is also included free entrance to a water park, with slides and a big pool for kids.

A very cozy restaurant close by the famous Rebild Bakker Forrest. We had a very good lunch meal, and while eating, looking at the window we could see small deer playing around in a grass field. The service was quite good, with a very attentive waitress always ready to come by with a smile. It seems to be a place much loved with people with passion behind it.

Perfect for when i was working manually in the area.

This place was ideal for us as manual workers whilst we were in the area. We could come and go in the early hours without disrupting other guests. However i would say this hotel needed a bit of updating as it has not really changed since i last stayed 6 years ago.

First time in a hostel for us and the dogs, and was actually not bad at all, excellent beds - bring your own bed linen and towels and soap - all rooms on ground floor and most with good showera and wc facilities. Kitchen in the next door building with all facilities, and breakfast can be added for a small amount. This hostel is situated right where Rebild Hills starts and parking easy next door as well as plenty of signs indicated the many walking and bike paths. Hostel ideal for wheelchairs as well. Free wifi,. Very affordable

Review of Hotel St. Binderup Kro (Denmark); Error in my bill and no refund...

Reviewed By AngeloMartin

1) What happened: We were a group of six people visiting the Hotel St. Binderup Kro ; we had four rooms for two nights; two double rooms and two single rooms. In principle every room had to be paid separately. On the morning of May 19 my friend told the hotel desk that he wanted to pay for two rooms [one double and one single] . According to his wishes the bill was prepared [bill number 1281] and paid. A few minutes later I arrived at the hotel desk and asked to check out and pay for my stay. I was told I had to pay 4.296 danish crowns. I paid the amount, partly cash and partly by credit card and received bill 1282. Since I was in a hurry I put the bill immediately in my pocket without looking at it. Later at home I discovered to my amazement that bill 1282 was not a bill for me but for my friend and not for one but for two rooms. So I had wrongly paid for one double room. 2) My request to the Hotel St. Binderup Kro by email to settle the issue: "Please refund me the fee for one double room for two nights (2.388 danish crowns)". 3) Reply by the Hotel St. Binderup Kro to my refund request: "We cannot refund payment without proof of double payment. This rule goes for You and in general of course." 4) Conclusion and warning to all travelers planning to stay in Hotel St. Binderup Kro: The above experience shows that the bookkeeping system at Hotel St. Binderup Kro is clearly incomplete and inaccurate. I wrote to Hotel St. Binderup Kro: - "How is it possible that the hotel system produces a bill once more [1282] - a few minutes after the first bill [1281] was presented – under the same name and with the same number of rooms for a new person". - "Why does the hotel system not put on every bill the room number of the hotel room where the guest has stayed. If this would be standard procedure in your hotel [like in most hotels] the mistake just mentioned could not have been made". - "If you receive groups of guests in your hotel and you have a payment problem with one group member and you would always demand from every group member to show his or her paid bill to you because otherwise you cannot solve the problem [like you do in this case] this would give your hotel a special reputation for group visitors". - "If a person comes to the hotel desk in your hotel for checking out of his stay, what gives you the right to charge that person with the cost of two rooms while he occupied only one and - when he paid - to refuse to acknowledge that you made a mistake". 5) Final judgement regarding Hotel St. Binderup Kro : Inappropriate customer treatment combined with an unreliable room booking & payment system, which is to the special disadvantage of foreign travelers for whom it is impossible to get refund for mistakenly paid items that surprisingly appear onto their bill and which they may not have spotted when making their bill payment in good faith. Please be warned before staying there. Respectfully yours, Prof Dr L. Traas

Nice area, but houses are worn and poorly cleaned. Been here four times, and every time there has been cold showers in the «badeland». People go into the pool without showering because of this. Houses are not very clean. Lots of dust in the bedrooms and glasses/forks/knives are often dirty when you arrive.
