After we had an average meal further down the road, we looked for a nice place for coffee and desert. When we walked past The Piano Bar, it clearly ticked the box. The place just looks inviting, both inside and out. We found a comfortable place in the lounge chairs outside, where we received great, friendly service and excellent coffee. Good end to and enjoyable family night.Thanks so much Dirk, we're so happy to hear you enjoyed your coffee & dessert - we hope to see you again soon for lunch or dinner, we'll be very happy to have you back.

We couldn't fault the food or service at Ba Vigo when our two families came for dinner while on holidays. The wines were also fantastic. Everything had so much flavour and was delicious. We will most def be back next time we are at the North Coast.

Good food but the wine list has no inexpensive options. This is not a problem if looking for a special occasion so maybe we were in the wrong restaurant. I own a couple of restaurants and know the industry well.. and I know when a restaurant runs down by new management. I have visited Backlane a few times now and finally writing a review. The old team, from about last year August-November, has been completely replaced. Seeing there is a new manager, Iâm guessing, thatâs why, which is not a good sign. Now talk about mistake if they were let go. This was the only place in Mooloolaba worth visiting because of the team, you donât see committed staff very often now a days. I used to spend A LOT of money here due to their beautiful way of making me feel special. Now the place just feels toxic, not relaxing at all, with the new manager being behind staffs a** all the time. Food is still great... but for a restaurant to stay open... good management = good and happy staff = excellent customer service = loyal customers = profit. Hope the owner is aware, I would certainly not be happy. I wonât come back anymore nor recommend this place, I hope the old team are doing great.We note your review and always welcome constructive criticism. On this occasion your robust review has queried our management. Our current management has been in place since July 2018 and during the period you say you enjoyed your Backlane experience. As you are an industry colleague you will understand in hospitality staff can be transient and in our experience our staff have moved onto study, or travel or for their own personal reasons and those exits have been congenial. We pride ourselves on our staff selection and our current staff are obliging and very likable and look forward to giving our customers a warm engaging experience. You will always be welcome at Backlane should you choose to return and enjoy our great food and service experience. Wishing you well.
