A welcome place from the bustling and touristic via Portici. The spaghetti (al dente!) and the mussels (cozze) were delicious, also the tomato, feta (with some other ingredients) salad was nicely presented and prepared! Service was courteous and friendly! - a very positive surprise were the washrooms/toilets!

This place serves decent food in an authentic Tyrolean setting. It is, however, quite expensive for what it is.....a glass of wine costs double what you would normally pay in a smart bar.The answer is probably that the restaurant is located off the busiest shopping street and is a perfect tourist trap. I noticed that lots of tables were 'reserved' but in reality they were not.....the waiter just picked up the sign and asked us to seat ourselves.The next time I am in Merano it is unlikely I would eat here again unless there were no other options for some odd reason

Ci siamo fermato a pranzo in questo locale, dopo aver fatto la passeggiata che da Parcines arriva a Castel Tirolo lungo i waalweg. Il cartello con quanto proposto era molto allettante. La scelta non poteva essere stata delle migliori. Dalla terrazza si ho un bellissimo panorama sulla valle e sul castello. Cortesia, gentilezza e professionalità . Quanto proposto dal menù? Difficile spiegarlo, l'unica cosa è andarci ed assaporare di persona.

We had lunch in this restaurant after visiting the Schenna Castle.It was a warm October, and we enjoyed the nice food and very good beers! We came back for evening dinner, and the view of the mountains were just great! The coffees and desserts were excellent and excellent service!

During our return to Merano in 2019 Forsterbrau restaurant once again played a key role in our great time that we had. Visiting and eating in the restaurant is all around great experience. Service is excellent. All staff move around like well oiled machine, yet machine with a nice human touch and care.The food here is spot on. God combination of the classic Tyrolean and Italian cuisine, always with a slight twist as the seasonal ingredience allow. However all we tasted here was VERY GOOD. Can't wait to visit some time in the future. Sure there wil be next time.

Seemingly hundreds of people sinking vast amounts of Forst beer from across the road to accompany the good plain Tirolean food. It's dusty, it's noisy and no place to wear your best clothes but great fun especially when there is live music

Restaurant close to the brewery has a big and well attended terrace. They have a good beer, varied and affordable wine card and rather extensive menu. Food is very Austrian, with a lot of meat. It's okay but not very special and not very cheap. Staff is efficient but they missed the personal touch. Food was there, shortly after we ordered it. At the end of the dinner the waiter offered a drink from the house. Good parking facilities.

We had a really nice experience here! For starters, the ambience was very nice. Rustic setting under an outdoor terrace. The servers were very fast and attentive. All looked very cute with traditional Lederhosen and dirndls.We started with their house dry white wine. Very good and reasonably priced.We had schnitzel with mushroom sauce, chicken steak with vegetables and our son had the chicken nuggets. Every dish was hot and very flavorful. The restaurant is situated on top of a mountain. The view in front is marvelous. The interior is very nice too. The restaurant serves local cuisine. I have been there several times and have never been disappointed. The service is very friendly and efficient too. I am quite often in this region. Beside the luferkeller in riffian this is my favorite place around Meran.

I love the Gasthaus Hochmuth. Getting there is amazing as the cable car whisks you up to the top of the mountain in minutes. The view is simply jaw dropping! It was a beautiful sunny day and sitting on the terrace 1000m above Merano is a memory I will not forget.But it is a restaurant and the food is very good. What a place to linger and enjoy the Italian 'La Dolce Vita,' even though everybody speaks German first!Sausage lunch was excellent and filling...perfect before a hike to Leiter Alm.
